Jiwoo glanced at her over exited brother and couldn't help but sigh at his enthusiasm. She was exhausted and was about to lie down but as soon as her head hit the pillow she bolted up and shook her head as if to physically shake away the tiredness she felt.

She had no time to rest. Jiwoo and her family were shifting to a new neighborhood and she had tons of things to do. There was simply no time to laze around as she was already running late. There was only one thought running through her mind right now;

'Mom will beat my ass if I don't get this all done soon.'

As she did her work she couldn't help but look at the room she has spent more than a decade in longingly. She was a bit reluctant to let go of this place, but who cares about what she thinks.

In all honesty she was pissed at her brother and her family. They were moving to somewhere else because her parents wanted her brother, Jihun to study in a better school. They of course didn't bother to consider whether Jiwoo was fine with the decision or not.

Jiwoo was in the junior year of high school and yet her studies weren't as important to her parents as her 9 year old brother's were. So they saw absolutely no problem in transferring her to another school mid semester.

Partly annoyed and partly tired, she shooed her younger brother away so she can peacefully pack the rest of the things, which wouldn't take long cause she didn't have much to pack in the first place. But she had to clean the room and recheck if everything was done or not.

After almost an hour she was finally done with everything and headed out to load the truck with her belongings.  As she sat in the back seat of mini truck, with her brother by her side and parents in the front seat she couldn't help but wonder how life would be at the new place.

She zoned out her the ramblings of her parents. They were talking about some family drama and how one of the sister in law of her aunt had eloped with some American guy and was supposedly pregnant with his child out of wedlock. It was the third time she had heard this about her aunt and both the previous times it was untrue. She knew her aunt wasn't pregnant this time around too.

As Jiwoo stared out the window she thought about how she often felt that she was a bit of a superfluous member of their family. She knew her parents favoured her younger brother more than her and it was especially apparent yesterday when her mother bought new uniform and clothes for her brother but told her to make do with what she has. Even though it clearly was a different uniform than the one she'd need for the new school.

Plus the fact that they moved to a completely different area just for Jihun also made it pretty clear among countless other instances.

After a couple of hours they finally reached the new place and Jiwoo let out a sigh of relief. Damn my butt and back is aching from all this sitting.

"Ssangmundong Jiwoo is here"  Jiwoo said while spreading her hands wide as if to greet the street. But in reality she was just stretching her sore limbs. All that hours packing and then sitting in a cramped space had her body aching.

It took them some time to unload everything, but some of the kind neighbors helped them with it.

Jiwoo couldn't help but think "Bless them, or else it'd have taken forever."

As everyone was busy unpacking, Jiwoo who wasn't in mood to unpack right now thought of checking out the neighborhood instead of sitting in between the adults who were telling each other about their entire life history.

Seriously how can these grown ups make friends so easily when it takes me forever to even talk with a stranger?

"Mom?" Jiwoo called while coming out of her room.

"Hmm?" Jiwoo's mother replied while cooking dinner.

"I'll be back in a moment, I'm going to go check out the area." But Jiwoo was already out of the door by the time jiwoo's mom answered. She did not want to be part of the adult meeting.

As she walked through the street she couldn't help but smile at the sight of people from all walks of life and different age groups mingling as if they've known each other since forever. On a second thought maybe they did.

As she was walking down the street she spotted a snack stall and excitedly ran over to buy some tteokbokki and fish cake.

Just as she turned around after paying she smashed right into something.

YSBTH

"CHOI SOOBIN STOP RIGHT THERE" a boy called out while riding his bicycle.

"YAH STOP RIGHT THERE" another boy called out while speeding up his bicycle. Another guy not that far behind him also speeding up to catch Soobin.

Meanwhile soobin kept peddling harder to get those guys off his back. All he wanted to do right now was to run away from them as far as possible. He was almost successful in escaping when suddenly one of the guy from the group sped up and caught up with him.

He stopped his bicycle right in front of Soobin, so that unless Soobin wanted to crash into him he had to pull the breaks.

The guy who stopped him smirked at Soobin menacingly and said "Tsk tsk, pretty boy where do you think you're going?"

Soobin gulped at the tone the guy was using and knew he was done for. As he was trying to look for a way to escape his luck got even worse cause the other three guys caught up with them too.

Now Soobin was surrounded by four boys and had no way of escaping. He stumbled back a couple of steps when one of the guys stepped forward.

"Hand over the money you have right now" the guy who looked like he was the shortest of the group threatened Soobin.

"What money?" Soobin tried to act nonchalant when he in fact knew what those thugs wanted.

"Hahahaha, what money? What money? " A tall guy who reminded Soobin of penguin looked absolutely deadly as he asked this, no trace of humor on his face at all. 'Well looks like the penguin is deadlier than it is cute.' Thought Soobin.

"Come now pretty boy, the fun is over. Wknow you won some cash prize in the competition, hand it over right now" The oldest (the one who successfully stopped him from escaping) demanded.

"And if I don't? " Soobin knew he wasn't going to win this, but he was willing to see how much he can save.

"Then you're a dead meat." The guy with a wolfcut who hasn't spoken much till now whispered in his ear.
