It was for the original end of the first act of Traitor on board.
Burt would've been attacked and the traitor would've been revealed that way. But then I couldn't find a reason to actually wander that far away from his friends in the kind of emotional state he was in.
I did plan it that way, leaving out his headset as a "I don't want to talk to anyone right now" but it still didn't make sense.
So I switched to the ending everyone saw.
This one would've included the station exploding too, just a lot more stressful for everyone involved because you don't happen to be in an office that Burt made sure was the safest place on the station.
