Lightning McQueen: [noticing a tractor driving away from the town] Hey! Hey, guys, There's one going this way! [pause] We got it! [McQueen and Maddie then follow the tractor, who is driving towards Willy's Butte. Pippa sees them and follows.]
Maddie: Come here, little tractor, come here. [The tractor then stops.] Yeah, that's a good tractor. [But the tractor then moves away.] No, no, no, no, come here. [But the tractor just drives away.] What are you doing? You're not supposed to go wandering off all--[notices Doc and Olivia Hudson on the track]--alone. [The screen then shows McQueen, Maddie, and Pippa as they get closer to a distance from the track, while the tractor drives back towards the town.]
Pippa: What's Dad and Mom doing out here?
Lightning McQueen: [McQueen noticing that Doc and Olivia has their racing tires on] And what are they doing with those old racing tires? [The screen does a closeup of Doc's and Olivia's sides to show us one of their racing tires. It then moves to on the road to show them still standing there. Doc and Olivia sigh heavily]
Maddie: [Maddie whispering] Come on, Doc and Olivia, drive.
[Doc and Olivia look towards the end of the track, then revs their engines. McQueen and Maddie smile while Pippa is surprised as the camera does a closeup on Doc's and Olivia's fronts, the lining on their trunks and sides, their rears, and their fronts and eyes, and they then sets off. Our heroes watch them happily. Doc and Olivia drive along the hillside beside the first curve. As they drive along the next straight, our heroes get shocked as they come towards the final curve where McQueen and Maddie slid off before. Doc and Olivia then does an opposite lock, where they turn their bodies to the left, and turns their wheels right while going around the curve perfectly. Doc and Olivia then stops as they approach the finish line, with the dust covering the camera for a few seconds until it shows them looking happy.]
Doc Hudson: [sighs heavily] Yeah.
Pippa: [McQueen, Maddie, and Pippa come toward Doc.] Wow! [noticing our heroes] You're amazing!
[But Doc and Olivia just angrily drive away. McQueen, Maddie, and Pippa coughs from the dust]
Lightning McQueen: What are you doing? Doc and Olivia, wait!
[McQueen, Maddie, and Pippa follow Doc and Olivia as they arrive back in Radiator Springs. As Doc and Olivia go left on the crossroad back to their garage, McQueen, Maddie, and Pippa stop as the tractors drive along in a lineup with Mater behind. Tractors mooing. Mater hitting the back tractor with his hook]
Tow Mater: Giddy-up right in there! Come on, Rusty. WHEE-HE!
Maddie: [McQueen, Maddie, and Pippa eventually catch up with Doc and Olivia as they drive into their garage.] Doc and Olivia, hold it! Seriously, your driving's incredible!
Olivia Hudson: Wonderful. Now, go away.
Lightning McQueen: [as he, Maddie, and Pippa drive into the garage] Hey, I mean it. You've still got it!
Pippa: What do you mean by that? They've never raced in their lives.
Doc Hudson: I'm asking you all to leave.
Maddie: Come on. We're race cars, you two are much older race cars, but under the hood you and I are the same.
Pippa: Dad and Mom, what is going on? What are they talking about?
Olivia Hudson: [To Pippa] What they're talking about does not concern you! [to McQueen and Maddie] And we are not the same! Understand? Now, get out. [drives out of their garage]
Lightning McQueen: How could two cars like you two quit at the top of both of your games?
Doc Hudson: [pauses] You think we quit? [Doc and Olivia then press a button on the garage floor to turn on a light beside our heroes, who then look to see a newspaper's front page on the wall saying "Crash! Hudson Hornet and The Goddess out for season".]
Maddie McWilliams: Right. Both of your big wrecks in '54.
Olivia Hudson: They quit on us, when we finally got put together, we went back expecting a big welcome, you know what they said? "You two are history", moved right on to the next rookie standing in line, there was a lot left in us. We never got a chance to show 'em. We keep that to remind us never to go back. We just never expected that that world would find us here.
Pippa: Dad and Mom... why have you two never told me this?
Doc Hudson: Because I didn't want you trying to continue our dream. They'll keep you for a couple of seasons and then, as soon as you crash, they toss you out. I didn't want you to go through the same thing I and Olivia did.
Maddie: But, hey, look, Doc and Olivia, we're not them.
Olivia Hudson: Oh, yeah?
Lightning McQueen: No, we're not.
Doc Hudson: When is the last time you two cared about something except yourselves, hot rods? You name me one time. And I will take it all back. [McQueen and Maddie then feel ashamed.] Uh-huh? I didn't think so. [to McQueen and Maddie, who then feels ashamed again] These are good folk around here, who care about one another. I don't want 'em depending on someone they can't count on.
Maddie: Oh, like you two? You two have been here how long and both of your friends don't even know who you two are? Your own daughter didn't even know who you two were until today! [Doc and Olivia then look hurt at Maddie's fact.] Who's caring about only themselves?
Olivia Hudson: Just finish that road and get outta here! [drives away] Pippa! Come on!
[Pippa drives after them, leaving Maddie and McQueen alone]
