M&R 1 (Moonshine POV)

It took me a while to realize, that for once, I hadn't figured out this case. I had been working on it for a while. The case was about a boy, around the same age as me, his name was Robles and he was very rich. He had just disappeared everyone thought he had died, but someone did not; my client. As far as I could tell, he had faked his death, unknown to everyone he had ever met. The only person who I was sure knew something about Robles, was his butler, Beau, who had most certainly worked with Robles to fake his death.                                                                                       Of course nothing was that easy (I knew from experience) but it wasn't as simple as Robles dying, I was sure of it. Yet I couldn't prove anything, so I was stuck at square one. Robles was 17 when he faked his death, now (if he was still alive) he would be 19. I had been working on this case for two years, and to no avail. I had tried everything, except for one thing. I knew that if I were to have any chance at finding Robles I would have to find Beau. The lead I had on Beau was quite good, considering the fact that he had completely disappeared from the internet, and social media. Yet he had shown his face once, and never again.                                                                           "MOON" I could hear Bowie screaming my name from the kitchen, they knew that I was always working on different cases, so it was most likely an attempt to distract me from the important things in life, mysteries of 'dead' people. "MOONSHINE NADIR! COME HERE RIGHT NOW OR I'LL FORCE YOU!" I chose to ignore Bowie because I thought I had found a lead, a clue. When Robles Ronter died, he left a short video message, the video shows him in a coffin, he then proceeds to briefly read his will, then the video ends. People had been analyzing the video for two years and nothing was found, but as I rewatched the video for the millionth time I noticed something that everyone else had missed. There was small text in the coffin, that read 'Lighter than what I am made of, more of me is hidden than is seen.' It was a discreet message, that I would have to look at again later, as someone had chosen to force me downstairs.                                   Bowie had somehow broken into my room which was secured with ten different locks, I knew Bowie could pick a lock, but I didn't know they could do it that well. Bowie stood right behind me and wouldn't move until I got up and went to eat with them. When I finally got up to eat Bowie and I went downstairs, and had some of their home cooked jambalaya, it was delicious. Bowie said they had a surprise for me, and when I followed them and they said, "I know how obsessed you have been with this case for the past two years, so I got you a one time spa pass to go relax". I know that Bowie wanted to do the right thing but I had made a major breakthrough and couldn't abandon the case now. "Bowie, I won't go I said flatly, they just sighed heavily and said, "I knew it would come to this, you never want my help!" they ran back inside and I heard them climbing the steps to their room.                                                                                                                              I didn't mean to hurt Bowie but it was inevitable, if I wanted to continue my search for Robles I couldn't get distracted. I went downstairs and knocked on Bowie's door, they yelled, "Go away Moonshine." but I stayed. Sooner or later they would break and I was right, "Fine, what do you want?" they asked me angrily, "I'll go to that stupid spa, so stop whining" I had told them a lie and I didn't know if they believed me, but their response answered my question,                   "wait... Really? You'd actually go?!" they asked excitedly;                                                                                   "Yes, sure whatever." I responded, lying through my teeth.                                                                                "GREAT! I already took the liberty of packing your bags!" they responded, "But, I have to go with you." they said, almost like it was nothing to worry about.                                                                     "Wait, hold up, that wasn't in the rulebook!" I had planned to go hunt down Beau, I thought I had figured out the riddle, but Bowie coming with me meant a day trip to the spa! A whole day that could be spent researching, and hunting for clues, a whole day wasted.                                            "Ugh... fine, you can come." I said, almost reluctantly, Bowie being great at picking up cues in a conversation, instantaneously picked up that I planned to spend my day not at the spa, instead somewhere else. "Moon, really?" they asked bitterly, "It would really help you, and me. Don't lie to me, and please come." With that I was forced to get into our car and go tot the spa.
