Taylor hollered from me from the other side of the hallway, "Maddy, I need to ask you something important, wait up." But of course she couldn't say it any louder because now many curious faces are staring at the both of us.

I swat my arm towards myself, signalling for her to come here quickly and she obliges. "What's up Taylor?" I say through my teeth.

"What's wrong?" She asks sincerely concerned about me. Taylor always seems to wonder what's wrong, but I can never put the pieces together on why she always asks me the same question, everyday. I snap back into reality when I realize she is still standing in front of me, and now waving her hands in front of my face.

"Sorry I zoned out, but nothing is wrong, I'm fine." I reassure her. I am fine and nothing is bothering me, she just worries way too much.

"Okay well I want to ask Jay to the dance, but I'm afraid he'll reject me. How should I ask him, I mean you're good at these sorts of situations," she blurts out.

"Just ask him, you have to take risks for the people you like, and I'm not good at these sorts of situations," I remind her, wanting to leave and eat lunch already.

"I can't just ask him, what if he doesn't feel the same and I make a fool out of myself?" She rambles on. "What if he makes fun of me with his group of friends? I'll be a laughing stock!" She stammers. I giggle slightly at her overthinking and she gives me a dirty look.

"I'm laughing because you overthink way too much. Just wing it," I say while taking a bite of my apple and closing my locker door. "I'm not sure about you, but I'd actually like to eat my lunch in the cafeteria."

"Ha ha, very funny Maddy." She taunts with a sarcastic tone of voice which makes me giggle to myself.

We walk to the cafeteria side by side and sit down with our group of friends. We don't have that many people in the group, I guess you could say. It is strictly girls that our group consists of. The boys have their popular group as well. In school they tell you to include everyone but we all branch off our separate ways anyways, so what is the point of that?

The girls were talking about some bad makeup brands and stupid stuff like that while I focused on eating the only article of food I had, an apple. I bit slightly into the core and got a seed into my mouth. "Ew," I say flatly while spitting out the seat and throwing my apple core into the garbage can from my seat on the bench.

The lunch bell rang signalling us that lunch was over and that we had to be back in class for 12:10. I pushed through the crowds of people as I did everyday and scrambled to my locker to grab my belongings for Geography and Psych-Ed. While I find myself running up the stairs, I bump into someone hard, knocking them down.

"Oh my gosh!" I squeal. "I apologize, I didn't look where I was going," I finish my sentence while helping the poor boy up.

"You look familiar." He says with a smirk pealed on his face. He doesn't look familiar to me, so why do I ring a bell to him? It doesn't make sense, but I don't think anything of it because I don't even know of this boy or who he may be. I walk up the stairs and quickly burst into Geogrpahy just as the late bell rings.

"Just on time," I mumble under my breath. I take the nearest seat which happens to be beside someone I greatly despise, Jack Gilinsky.

"Hello class, today I am partnering you with the person beside you, you have one week to make a project on any country you wish." I look to my left and I realize I am at the end of the row. I am partnered up with somebody I hate. He won't even take the project seriously, maybe I should just ask for a different partner.

He looks at me with a devious smile and begins to complain, "I wish I actually could of gotten a decent looking partner." I want a new partner so badly.
