I found myself alone in a dark place, with no friends, family, or anything to cling to in this dangerous world. As a mere 15-year-old boy, I was destitute and without even a roof over my head. I had given up hope for a better life or any semblance of safety in this harsh reality. It seemed that I had lost everything the moment I was born and was destined to suffer until my dying breath. Suddenly, I was awoken by an intense migraine, unlike any other I had ever experienced. As I opened my eyes, the darkness enveloped me, and the walls that had once provided me shelter now seemed like menacing monsters made of stone and wood. Oh, how I wished for just four of those walls to protect me once again.
My vision was blurred as a tall figure appeared before me. He was tall, and...and...he was tall. That was all I could make out. I never believed in miracles, I swear, but in that moment, I was willing to believe that some divine being had come to my aid. I was scared and shivering with cold, perhaps because I was naked. He came closer, and his hand touched my shoulder, gently caressing my upper back. I trembled even more. "You are lost, young man? Do you need warmth?" He spoke with a reassuring tone. I couldn't believe my ears. Was this a guardian angel or a mere mortal like myself? Nonetheless, I nodded in agreement, desperate for any form of warmth and comfort.
Suddenly, I felt a pounding sensation in my temples. I couldn't explain what was happening to me at that moment, but I felt like I was slipping away. I lost consciousness, only to be awakened by the sounds of a scuffle, which was strange since the man was alone. As I opened my eyes, I found myself in a completely white room, which was surprising. There was nothing on the walls, no decorations of any kind. I had lived on the streets almost all my life, but even though I was finally in an enclosed space, it did not give me a sense of security.
After a few seconds of waiting, a hand grabbed my shoulder from behind. I was sitting on a metal chair, which was surprisingly comfortable, and my first instinct was to break free from the restraints and remove the hand of the person touching me. As I stood up, I realized that I was wearing some kind of thick fabric that served as a suit covering my body.
"Fear not. We mean you no harm," said the man in front of me, who appeared to be a man at first glance. "Who are you, and what do you want from me?" I asked, unsure of what was happening or what was to come next. This man had the look of an Olympic athlete, the kind of man you see in affluent neighborhoods; handsome, tall, and extremely well dressed. He had gold-looking bracelets on his wrists, as well as a talisman in the shape of a crucifix.
"My name is Silver," he said. "You're probably wondering what you're doing in this room, but I need you to pay attention and listen to what I have to say."
"And what do you have to say?!" I asked, completely bewildered by what was happening and feeling like I had been taken advantage of.
"Like us, you are special," Silver replied. "Now, I'm going to make a request of you that I urge you to accept for your own safety. Join us and help us get rid of the 'fallen creatures.'"
