A month had passed since the death of All Might, the vigilante known as Deku was all people were talking about
Deku stood up on top of a building, the rain was pouring, the boy was almost unrecognizable, his suit was covered in patches, although you could barely notice since it was stained black and red from filth and blood, Deku's iron soles had taken the shape of his feet, after the force of his attacks. His mask was covered in cracks and chips, the hooded part of the cowl hanging on by a thread
Deku watched as the rain fell, trying to find some comfort, although since Toshinori died it's been hard
Deku heard a scream in the distance and jumped to the scene
As Deku flew through the city he felt his body slowing down
Nana: when was the last time you slept?
Deku: I'm unsure... I'll sleep after this
When he arrived at the scene, he found a group of kids surrounded by a gang of villains
Deku: get away from them
Villain: or what-
Deku punched the villain square in the face, breaking his jaw and knocking out a few teeth
The villains all rushed at Deku. Dodge after dodge Deku became more unimpressed, he kicked one in the abdomen sending him flying to a wall, he broke another's arm, and noticed the last one was wearing a Tartarus inmate uniform
Deku grabbed him and held him in the air,
Deku: what do you know?
Villain: I'm not talking! Y'know what he'll do to me!
Deku: do you know what I'll do to you?
Deku used black whip to grab one of the man's fingers, then with the slightest movement a loud snap was heard
Villain: AHHHH!
Deku: you have nine more, or I could always take your teeth
Villain: y-you wouldn't! You're supposed to be a hero!
Deku: yeah... Supposed to be
Black whip tendrils slowly crept up the man's face and opened his mouth, one of them wrapping around one of his teeth, Deku slowly started to pull making the villain scream in pain
Villain: FINE! I'LL TALK!
Deku dropped him and waited for the information
Villain: all I know is that he's... they're recruiting, they want us to stir up as much chaos as possible!
Deku: do you have any locations?
Villain: I-I think there's going to be a meeting downtown
As Deku flew downtown he couldn't help but remember Toshi and Toru, almost as if they were in his ears telling him to slow down
Deku landed on a building and stared out at the city, it was all chaos, even in the rain there were fires, Deku could probably find a whole lot of corpses that belonged to the innocent
He looked over the building and began to think
Deku: what the hell am I doing? How many do I have to hurt?
Nana: bunny? What's wrong?
Deku: I've killed a few villains in the past month, what makes me better than them?
The other past users appeared, even Toshinori's husk
First: you are fighting for justice, those villains gave you-
Deku: villains... That's just a stupid label, not like I'm any better. They're out here, killing, surviving, and using their quirks illegally. Does that sound familiar?
Second: listen, kid, this is war, get used to it
Deku: how many more have to die? I'm not sure what or who I am anymore, I'm not a hero that's for sure
Banjo: kid... Take a break, you haven't done anything wrong. And even then none of us have something we aren't ashamed of, I'm sure even Toshinori did
Izuku looked over the ledge and took a deep breath
Deku: So many people are dying because of me, what if the best way to keep people safe was to just... Leave
Before they could respond Deku stepped off the ledge and began to fall
As he fell he felt a weird sense of calm, something he hadn't felt in a while
Deku: I'm so tired... Dad
Deku closed his eyes, not sure if he was asleep or not, not sure if he even wanted to stop falling
Nana: Izuku! Use my quirk! This isn't funny!
Banjo: Kid! Wake up!
First: Ninth! Don't forget what you're fighting for!
Deku ignored their calls, he didn't care anymore, he could die on the pavement, or against All for One. It all seemed inevitable
As he fell he did think of his kids and the girls
Deku: they'll be fine, not like I'm doing much for them now
The ground was approaching fast, Deku's body didn't tense up or anything, it simply went limp, following what the mind wanted, rest
Danger sense kept going off, and the other users tried to forcibly make float work, but Deku blocked them out.
???: SOMEONE HELP ME!
Deku's eyes shot open and he activated float a few centimeters away from the ground
He looked in the direction the scream came from and made his way over there
The other seven One for All users were in shock
First: this is not good, the boy needs to go home
Nana: he needs to rest
Banjo: how are we supposed to do that?
Nen: last time I checked we were dead, we couldn't even control his body just now
Nana: my poor bunny is well beyond his limit
Deku landed on the ground and looked for the source of the scream
Soon with the help of Danger sense, he found the child calling for help
Deku: what's wrong? Where are your parents?
The child pointed to a pile of rubble, Deku feared the worst
Using danger sense he could sense a faint heartbeat, maybe two
Deku: come on, I think I can get them free, when I do I'll get even more help
Together Deku and the child went up to the rubble
Deku used black whip and OFA to life the rubble, under it was a woman covered in blood, and a man presumably her Husband who was unconscious
Deku: are they your parents?
The little girl nodded and Deku helped them out
Deku: let's get you out of here-
Danger sense went off and Deku looked behind him to find a hoard of villains
Deku: take your child and run... I'll hold them off as long as I can
