Mom peeks inside, stepping into the room as if the floor was made out of sharp needles. She looked... Guilty?

I watched her closely. She spoke quietly as if afraid someone would hear her. "Can I borrow ten dollars? I will give it to you when my paycheck arrives."

She won't.

I internally sigh. After our last encounter? I don't want to. But it's not worth it. I will still be the bad guy.

I stand up and walk to my backpack. I find a hidden zipper which I open. From there I bring out my wallet and set the backpack down since I don't need it anymore.

She comes closer to look at my wallet. More like looking at how much is in the wallet.

I open it and hand her the 10 dollars.

She nods and takes it. She goes to leave but stops and turns to me. "You are not going to school?"

I show her my screen. "I still have time."

"Oh." She nodded yet again and left.

I walk into school going straight for my locker where Cheryl probably already waits. I pull out my earphones from my ears and stop the song. It's Called: Freefall

Some good shit.

"Someone has a shitty mood." I raise my eyes and they land on Dominic.

I lift my eyebrows and stop at my locker. Cheryl waves at me and Kane smiles.

Dom takes one step toward me. "Don't kill me for this," he mumbles. Then he takes both of his hands to my face and with his thumb and index fingers, he lifts my corners into a smile. "There! A smile."

I give him unimpressed look when he lets go and steps back. "I'll smile when I have something to smile about."

Cheryl chimes in, "Who pissed in your cereal today."

Your mom.

"Just hungover." That's only half a lie.

They all nod. Agreeing.

"Alex was rolling on the floor when he saw me." Kane cringes. "He promised he won't snitch so that's a plus."

My heart weirdly aches at hearing his name.

I wonder why.

The other two laugh. "You got to be more sneaky than that." Dom pats him on back.

"I didn't even bother trying to look like a human because it wouldn't help." Cheryl sighs. Ah, I see. She is all-natural today. Still pretty though. I don't know how she does that. Her skin looks flawless with and without makeup. That should be illegal.

Dom snickers. "You all are pussies. I was fine all night and morning. Still am."

"Oh yeah?" Kane smirks.

Dom suspiciously eyes Kane giving him a look that likely means 'shut up'.

"What about your voice messages of you crying in the bathroom hugging the toilet when--"
