Amos and his childhood friend, Ezekiel, thought they would have a normal snow day with their friends. The two quickly realize they were very wrong as they get knocked unconscious and wound up at the Yfel Café in the middle of the forest with no know...
As I put my shoes on to go out into the newly fallen snow, my mother calls out to me from the kitchen, "Amos, honey, don't stay out too long. We still have to go to Aunt Auggie's tomorrow morning!" I let out a long exhale as I stood up, "okay mom!" I hollered back. I never agreed on going to my Aunt's house for Chritsmas. Her kids, my cousins, were and always will be obnoxiously loud. I decided to just enjoy this day before going out of state.
As I step out into the cold of early winter, the snow makes everything seem like a bright daydream. The admiration quickly ended as I was hit on the side of the head by a snowball. "Yo dude!" A familiar voice said with a joyful tone in it. I look to my left to see my closest and longest friend, Ezekiel. His bright strawberry blonde hair was glowing in the sun as he laughed. Walking over to him made him seem a lot taller than he looked from my driveway. He's 6'1, taller than me, a 5'7 guy.
When he looked up from bending down as he laughed his bright hazel eyes glanced into mine to quickly look to the side of me. Somehow I almost always forget he can't look at people directly and remembering that I allowed a light smile show. "You really know how to get someone's attention, huh?" I said with a hint of humor. He snickered a bit and finally looked at me directly with a cheerful smile. "There's the Ezekiel I know!" I said with joy and hugged him. "Hey, Amos, I heard there's a huge hill that the others are going to!" Ezekiel said almost as if testing to see if I'd ask to go with him. "Then what are we waiting for? Let's go Ezek!" I said as I grabbed his hand and posed like a heroic figure.
At the top of the hill we see kids, families, friends, couples, and loners sledding and skiing down past those who're walking up, each time making some of their hair dance in the wind they left behind. In the crowd of girls Ezekiel and I can only think of one person who's in the middle; Gabriel. Gabriel was a tall and skinny guy who had beautiful, past the shoulder, bright blonde hair, the brightest green eyes you'll see in town, perfectly straight, pearly white teeth, freckles and a soft yet strong voice, you'd think he was a model. While I have short, poofy dark brown hair, amber eyes, braces and a quiet, raspy voice. Not many people take notice of Ezek and I so it's a surprise to many when they find out Gabriel is friends with us.
"Gabe!" I heard Ezekiel call out, causing me to snap out of my daze. The group of girls started making a way for Gabriel to get out. He looked around for a moment and waved with his gorgeous smile. I took out my phone to check the time, it's 2:47. I get a shock of sudden fear, I've done this before yet haven't. That happens from time to time.
"Hey chief, you good?" Gabriel's voice broke through my slight panic. "Yeah, just panicked a little," I said quietly, "where's bubs?" Gabriel let a smug smile appear on his face, "why? Worried your boyfriend would get hurt?" He empathized the word "boyfriend" quite a bit, which made my face turn red, though it was already quite red from the cold. Gabe let out a laugh, "he's not my boyfriend Gabe, we're just friends," I said with a sour tone. "Okay then," Gabe said as he put his hands up as if he had a gun pointed towards him, "Matthew's over at the café." I nodded, "should we go meet up with him then?" Both Gabriel and Ezekiel agreed and we headed on our way while seeing who could make it down the hill faster. Ezekiel of course made it down first since he was in track since 5th grade and was quite fit. He wasn't jacked or overly skinny but he had a good build. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
