Just friends on a holiday

Chapter 4

We rushed down to matron who was standing next to some recognisable figures. " Uncle Felix! Aunt Lucy!"  cried Daisy. Her pink dress trailing behind her as she ran up to both of them.

" How unladylike Miss Wells."  Matron looked at Daisy with a dissatisfied look on her face.

"Sorry Matron."  replied Daisy. I looked at Aunt Lucy who was wearing a yellow one piece with a floral pattern. Uncle Felix as always had his monocle screwed tightly to his face. He wore a freshly pressed black suit with a red bow neatly placed on his neck.

" Come along girls. We need to get going."

" Well Uncle Felix we need to go get our bags. We will be as quick as possible. Come along Hazel." Daisy dragged me up the stair case and up into our room. I saw Amina and waved. This made Daisy barge the door open even harder then she normally did.

" Kitty do you think you have any earrings I can borrow since I didn't expect Aunt Lucy to be here. Please!!!"

"I guess I can lend you some but they can not be damaged! Understand?"

"Yes of course!"

"I thought you didn't care about your appearance Daisy Wells."

"Oh shush Hazel. I didn't expect Aunt Lucy to be here!"

"Well hurry up then! I want to go on holiday!"

" Well I guess this is goodbye. Goodbye. I hope you won't miss me , the Honourable Daisy Wells, too much. Oh and Hazel." I laughed at this comment because it was such a Daisy-ish thing to say. We said our goodbyes and me and Daisy grabbed our bags and headed down stairs. I heard Lavina mumble something about unfair holidays and I couldn't help but smile at that comment. We ran out into the car which was shining brightly in the sunshine.

"Hello girls! I think it's time to head off !"

"Yes Aunt Lucy," I replied " also I was wondering were we would be going and who the mystery guests are."

"Hazel is exactly right. Where are we going?"

"I'm afraid we can't tell you yet but in around 10 more minutes we will be  picking up our mystery guests."said Uncle Felix.

"You are such a spoil sport Uncle Felix!"

We passed many buildings even though they went in a blur. We suddenly stopped at a small field belonging to a farmer. Suddenly two boys flooded into my view. I couldn't help but gasp. The car  stopped and I pushed open the door and I couldn't help shouting "Alexander, George!" I couldn't help beaming at them both before Alexander took my waist and picked me up before bringing me down into a tight hug.I felt my self blush and a hot feeling creep up my neck.

"Hazel!! I missed you so much!" His American accent shone as he said this and I couldn't help but smile.

"Hello Hazel! It's good to see you again!" George had a big smile on his face and Alexander pulled away from me so I could hug George.

" I missed both of you so much!" 

"Hello boys. Fancy seeing you here." Daisy said from the car window.

"Hello Daisy" cried George now waving at her.

"If you don't hurry up and get in this car I shall leave all three of you here so hurry up!" I got inside next to Daisy and then Alexander sat next to me and finally George came in closing the door after him.

"Hello boys. Alexander, George I hope you brought the thing ."

"Yes we did Mrs Mountfitchet." replied George with a smug look on his face.

"What thing?" Asked me and Daisy in union.

"Im sorry girls but that's restricted information."

I looked at Alexander. He and George were both wearing suits and I realised how close his hand was to mine and if I reached out I could have easily held his hand. Obviously at the thought I started blushing and to my dread Alexander noticed.

"Are you ok Hazel?"

"Yes. I am perfectly fine. Thank you." Then Daisy pulled me towards her and whispered into my ear:

"I better not see you daydreaming about him again Hazel. You know you would be disgracing the    Detective Society."

"Hey! I can like who I want  Daisy Wells!"

"What are you two talking about?" asked George.

"Sorry George but that is restricted information."said Daisy.

"Ok now I hope you won't argue because we've got 2 more hours to get to Dorset." I gasped. So that's where we were going!I can't believe Uncle Felix didn't tell us earlier!

"Do you mean the Dorset with fossils and Durdle Door!" I couldn't help but shout and I quickly covered my mouth with my hand. Alexander and George looked at me astonished by my loud voice. Then Alexander smiled and I couldn't help but smile back.

"Exactly Hazel! I'm glad your happy."said Aunt Lucy. "We will be going to be staying at the Sunshine. It's a fancy  hotel near the  seaside with a light house next to it."

"Wow!"we all said in union. Then we all couldn't help laughing.Again I looked at Alexander who was already looking at me.

"Are you excited?"he asked me.

"Oh I can't wait! There's this place called Jurassic coast where you can  find dinosaur fossils!" After I had finished my sentence I looked at Alexander and noticed he was staring deep into my eyes.

"Alex! Stop staring at Hazel!" personally I didn't mind him staring at me but when George spoke his words pulled Alexander out of his head.

"Oh!Sorry Hazel. I didn't mean to!"

"Oh it's ok." I replied as George smirked at me so I glared at him. I thought to my self ; a trip with Alexander. This trip got a lot more exciting.

Authors note:

I know this is a really long chapter but I just couldn't help it! I had so much fun. In the next chapter our fellow detectives will be in Dorset. I also wanted to say that it has been so much fun writing this book and I hope I can do another one. I have lots of story ideas in mind. :)  Also next chapter I'm going to do a little bit from Alexander's pov.
