So I've gotten back into reading and not just writing fan fiction and here I am once again with my tip book! I don't know if I've mentioned it yet but these are all tips that have worked for me and I'm not saying you NEED to do them to have a good story or be successful at all.
It's your fanfic! Do whatever gives you the warm fuzzies! These are mere suggestions.
1. If you're following a storyline of a movie, tv show, or whatever you're making a fanficiton for, don't be afraid to deviate from the main storyline! You don't have to only mention what you see on the screen or the page. Your character (OC or Y/N) doesn't have to be wherever the main focus is. It's your fanfic! If you want them off having a conversation somewhere else while "the camera is on other characters" for development, then go for it! I personally find fanfics more interesting when they don't just copy a movie's script. The main reason this bugs me is because when you read other fan fictions that do that, yours doesn't stand out. Give them scenes that weren't in the movie or show! I love it when other writers do this :)
2. Don't just say they're important! I read my very first fanfic over again (it's unpublished so none of you will ever see that atrocity again lol) and I noticed that I would say my character was 'important' and 'held the team together' but literally all she ever did was get hurt and kidnapped and be saved haha. Please let them do some important stuff to prove it 👍
3. Take care of yourself! If you have important things to focus on right now then take a break. We all love fanfic but you need to focus on you homie. Everyone will understand!
That's all the nuggets of wisdom I have for you folks today!

Tips I've learned as both a writer and a reader
Fiksi PenggemarI'm not a good writer and I'm not trying to slam other people that write, but here's some things I've learned that's worked for me and what to expect! I'll use examples (bad stuff included) from my own writing to help you visualize it. Feel free to...
