"Veggie Burger."
The veggie burger hit the table, "Stiles, I asked for a hamburger. Okay, with all the toppings...extra cheese, extra delicious."
"Well veggie is healthier, we're being healthy." Stiles said with a mouth full of his salad, holding up the container to add the emphasis on the healthy part.
I personally thought it was cute that Stiles was trying to take care of his dad, and have him eat healthier. I've been around Sheriff enough to know his diet really wasn't the best, and he could use some guidance occasionally.
"Why are you trying to ruin my life?" Sheriff groaned, as he noticed the celery and carrot sticks that took the place of his usual order of fries.
Stiles let out a sigh, sitting his salad on the desk. "I'm trying to extend your life, okay? Could you just eat it, please?"
Sheriff moved his eyes towards me, "Is he forcing you to eat that too? You poor thing....Come on Autumn we can go get dinner without him, some real food."
"Dad, stop trying to corrupt my girlfriend. She's enjoying her salad, right babe?"
"Oh yeah.....Actually, Sheriff I may take you up on that offer." I joked. Stiles' head twitched towards me quickly, his eyes burning into mine.
"Autumn..."
I sighed and took another bite of my salad, "He's not forcing me Sheriff...." I mumbled.
"So, tell us what you found." Stiles said to his dad, trying to change the subject.
Sheriff shook his head, "No, I'm not sharing confidential police work with teenager's."
"We can make Stiles leave, and you can talk to me about it!" I mentioned, sending a devious smirk sheriffs way. "And I mean, is that it on the board behind you?" I asked, my eyes roaming behind his head to the board.
Stiles' head flew to the side so he could see it also, "See Otto, this is why I brought you!"
I turned my head back to him, dropping my jaw a little bit. "Awh, thanks. How sweet." I deadpanned.
"You know I'm joking," Stiles replied, not taking his eyes off of the board. I will admit he looked extremely adorable with his eyes squinted, and his typical look of concentration on his face. Who am I kidding, he's always extremely adorable.
"Don't look at that!" Sheriff ordered.
Neither Stiles or I stopped looking at the board, I was still trying to piece everything together.
"Alright," Stiles mumbled.
Sheriff let out a heavy sigh, "Avert your eyes!"
Arrows were pointing all over the place, and pictures were plastered up along with them. It was just too hard not to look. Kind of like when a scary movie trailer comes on super late at night and you don't want to watch it, but you find yourself watching through your fingers anyways cause your curiosity takes over.
"Okay," I mumbled, not moving an inch.
Sheriff flew up from his seat, "Hey!" Our eyes were no longer on the board, but aimed at him.
"Just....dad it's just, we see arrows pointing at pictures."
I nodded slowly, "A lot of confusing arrows and pictures..."
Sheriff began rubbing circles on the sides of his head, "Fine. Okay, "He plopped back down into his chair. "Okay, I found something."
Stiles' body flung forward, closer to his dad. "You did!? This mess behind you actually means something?"
