***************Angelina*****************

By the time I reached my house, all of the alcohol I'd consumed had worn off, and I began to realise how stupid I'd been. I couldn't believe I actually stripped in front of everyone, then those things I did with Joseph, and then trying to kill myself! That was why normally I didn't drink. I sighed and entered the silent house. The absolute quiet was eerie, and I made my up to my room. At least there was no school the next day, because it was a Saturday. I collapsed into bed and fell asleep right away.

When I woke, I could barely open my eyes. My tongue was fuzzy, my head pounding wildly. And then there was my ankle. I sat up and found my aunt sitting nearby.

"I am so sorry," I told her. "I don't know what came over me. I'm never like that." She smiled softly.

"You really are exactly like your father. I think it's high time I told you the real reason he left. He absolutely adored you and your mother. He told me all the time how much he couldn't wait for you to be born. Then something happened, and he realised that he had to leave to keep you safe. He still loves you, and soon you will have to leave everyone you love to keep them safe as well. You'll meet him soon, perhaps sooner than I'd like."

"What happened to him? Where is he? Why did he leave me? Why did he hate me so much?" A sob escaped my lips, and a single tear ran down my cheek.

"Let me start from the beginning. Do you believe in God?"

"Yeah," I replied immediately.

"So you believe in angels?"

"Uh-huh."

"Demons?"

"Of course."

"How about certain... gifts? Like psychics?" I thought about it for a moment.

"Kind of." I took a deep breath in, bracing myself for the next one. They were becoming more and more ridiculous each time.

"Okay. So, you know of the five elements, hopefully. There are certain people in the world who can control them. You and your father have this gift, but he made mistakes in his youth. He fought with the demons, then turned his back on them when he realised what he was doing was wrong."

"My dad..." I coughed. "No. I can't believe you. He would have visited. You're crazy! This is not real. Get with reality, and soon. Just... go away."

"Angelina. I know it is hard to accept, but you need to believe it. It is the truth. I can prove it to you by letting you see your father. When your powers develop, which will happen soon, is when you have to go and live with him. He is waiting for you. He can't wait to meet you." I was so confused. Was it the truth? Did my dad actually love me? Why, then, did he leave me? He could have taken me with him.

"No!" I protested. I jumped to my feet, fury simmering up from deep within me. Soon it would boil over. I clenched my fists at my sides and then opened my palms, spreading my fingers wide. The sound of glass shattering caused me to start, and I whipped my head around to my now destroyed mirror. I sunk onto my bed, staring at my hands. Somehow I knew I'd done it. Somehow, I had managed to break the glass in my anger. I looked up and found my aunt gone. My door was closed, and I left it like that. I lay back on the bed and closed my eyes, planning on spending the night thinking of the recent events of my life. No such luck.

I woke up the next morning, energised and ready for my regular Sunday morning run. I dressed quickly, then put my headphones in, jogging from the house. I sprinted down my driveway and onto the cracked and uneven footpath. I ran for three hours, encountering no other people. After all, who would be awake at seven thirty on a Sunday morning? I was just about to head back home when I saw something shift in the corner of my eye. Suddenly, a large, warm hand clamped down over my mouth.
