"So," the woman said, touching my arm. "Do you have any plans for tonight?" she asked.

     "I do, plenty," I answered.

"How will you ever get laid, Kaian, seriously, have some charisma." Amir's voice drifted in one ear and I had to grit my teeth to keep from saying anything.

"Yup, real smooth, big brother, you get an award!" Eliana added.

The woman was frowning at me and when her drink came, she got up and left.

"Sir, will you be paying for that?" the bartended asked.

"Yeah, just put it on my tab,"

I don't know if sending woman after woman was part of their evil plan, but after the eight woman sat beside me, touched up on me and used me to get a drink, I was getting sick and tired of waiting.

I still had my watch, my wallet was still in my pant pocket and the silver chain around my neck was still there. Nothing has been stolen.

"Patience is a virtue, Kaian pepper,"

"Patience my ass, tell me what she looks like."

     "No,"

I sighed, then ordered another drink, I looked around the casino, spotted a few people that were staring at me and my senses became alert on pure instinct. Even if this was supposed to be for fun and games only, there were still people out here that could threaten my life or Eliana's or Amir's and that put me on edge.

"Excuse me," a woman's voice came from behind me and I felt a soft tap on the shoulder. "I think you dropped this?" she asked, holding up my wallet.

"She's pretty," Eliana commented. Was this my thief?

Ignoring Eliana, I took the wallet from her. "Thank you," I said.

She smiled at me and it happens rarely, but I couldn't help but agree with Eliana. This woman was pretty.

"Can I sit here?" she asked, pointing at the stool beside me.

    "Go ahead,"

"Thanks," she smiled again. "Hi, can I get a pina colada, please?" she asked the bartender.

    "Right away, miss,"

     "Thank you,"

How many times was this woman going to say thank you in one night?

She looked at me and smiled again. "Are you by yourself?" she asked.

     "Yes," I answered.

"Me too," she said. "But I wasn't supposed to be, there was this guy I was gonna go on a date with, but he showed up with two women, can you believe that?" she asked, accepting the drink the bartender gave her.

She took a sip and I couldn't help but follow her movements.

"Relax, Kaian, I can see your boner from here," Amir said and Eliana laughed.

I sighed. "Then why are you still here?" I asked.

She shrugged. "Didn't want to waste my night, and I got all dressed up, I just got here!" she laughed.

Dressed up. It was a simple dress, purple silk, but she carried it differently. More elegant.

"Why are you here?" she asked me.

     "I'm waiting for someone,"

"Oh," she frowned. "Shame, I was going to ask if you wanted to spend time with me, you know? Upstairs, maybe."

I didn't want to explore the idea that I was tempted by what she was implying.

     "Say yes, Kaian!" Amir said.

     "No,"

"No?" she asked, with an even deeper frown.

"You fucked up," Eliana whispered. They say that there is an angel and a devil that rests on your shoulders whispering things in your ear. In my case, both were devils equally annoying.

"Do I really look that undesirable? I've already been rejected by one guy and now this?" she asked, her eyes rimming with tears.

There was no way this woman was going to cry right now.

"What am I doing wrong?" She sobbed, the tears falling down her face.

     "Kaian, do something!" Amir said.

"What the fuck am I supposed to do?" I made the mistake of asking.

Her face crumpled. "Nothing! I didn't ask you to do anything!" she exclaimed, standing up. "You're an asshole, you know that? Like, seriously, and I thought you'd be nice!" she added then grabbed her drink and threw it at my shirt.

I don't think she expected herself to be capable of doing something like that because she gasped and covered her mouth and she looked so genuinely surprised that I couldn't do anything but watch what she was gonna do next.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry," she whispered. "Can you please give me some tissues?" she asked the bartender who was staring at us along with others who didn't know how to mind their own fucking business.

"I took my anger out on you, I'm sorry, you're really not that bad. It's just been a really rough night and just things on top of things you know? God, this is so embarrassing," she was muttering, crying and wiping shit off my shirt and I was so fucking confused, I couldn't do anything but look at her.

She was disheveled. Tear stains on her makeup, her eyes bright red and her dress had pina colada splatters and one strap was falling down one shoulder.

"I'm really sorry about that," she said one last time and scurried away, people, along with me, staring after her.

Mireya

I was going to fucking steal his car.

After my ridiculous act of being an emotional mess who couldn't keep her shit together, I managed to get the valet card from his suit jacket.

Now, I held the keys to his black Aston Martin, and thanks to my ability to memorize quickly, I was able to find his car through it's plate number. I guess high school biology prepared me for something

I unlocked it with the key and got in the driver's seat, once I sat down, I didn't even want to remember how long it's been since I last drove a car. When I tell you its been a while, its been a while.

So when I pressed on the breaks instead of the gas, it was no surprise.

I backed up slowly and thanked heavens there was nobody anywhere near me, after I got out of the parking spot, I sped out of the lot as fast as my beating heart.

I saw Eliana, Amir and the man I stole from, in the rear view mirror, watching as I drove away.

I let out a nervous laugh, adrenaline making my hands shake. Did I want to admit this was kind of fun? Not really. But what excited me more was the fifteen grand I was going to collect.
