He nods along. "Long day."
"Long day. We're tired."
"We're tired."
"We should sleep."
"Probably."
"Tomorrow, then."
"Tomorrow," Levi echoes, and although you've got no idea what you're intending for tomorrow, you've both agreed to go to bed now and leave it to tomorrow. Whatever 'it' is.
You both stare at each other for another moment. Then, finally, you turn back around and turn your phone on, content to scroll through social media for a bit before you go to bed. You hear rustling behind you and you feel it when Levi slides under the covers next to you, bodies so close yet so far.
You wait until the sounds of movement and rustling stop before you murmur, "good night."
Only a few moments pass before you hear Levi, voice sounding much too close to your ear, mutter, "good night."
You fall asleep peacefully, albeit a bit frustrated and a lot horny.
.
At some point in the middle of the night, you wake up with a jolt.
You don't know exactly why. If it was a dream, you certainly don't remember it. You can hear the wind howling outside- that snowstorm, as promised. You expected to wake up cold, but honestly, you're pretty warm, snuggled up like this under the blankets.
You reach for your phone and the bright screen nearly blinds you. 1:54 in the morning. Ugh.
You set it down with a sigh and roll over, trying to get comfortable. You glance at Levi, who's also facing you, eyes closed and hair tousled.
He looks so... peaceful. The messy hair, the way he sinks into the mattress, the blanket pulled up to his shoulders. He's so good-looking that it's actually sort of ridiculous. How the hell did a guy like him ever agree to do this fake dating crap with you?
Hm. Could you move closer?
Ever since that one morning when you'd woken up with Levi's arm around you, you've wanted it to happen again. You'd been so warm, so content- you'd never felt that comfortable with anyone in your life. To think that it came from being with someone that you're not even actually dating is bizarre, but... god, you want to hold onto him again.
Heart noisy in your chest, you reach across the gap in between the two of you and settle your hand on his side.
He shifts. For a second, you're regretting all of your boldness and ready to shrink back into your spot, but then one of Levi's hands rises and he reaches for you. He pulls and you happily shift yourself closer to him, cheek pressing into his chest, arm over his side. Is he awake or is he doing this subconsciously? Shit- maybe you shouldn't, what if he wakes up and-
Levi sighs softly, his arm laying over your shoulder. "You're fine," he murmurs, pulling you in a bit tighter. "You're fine."
You're fine. You relax into Levi's chest, trying to slow your stupid heartbeat. You didn't take him for a cuddler when you first met him, so... this is a nice surprise. You've forgotten how much you missed being held, missed having someone tell you you're okay. You feel warm here- safe.
His hand over your back retracts. You stay still, wondering if maybe he's just repositioning himself. Then, his fingertips trace the side of your face, running across the side of your jaw and to your chin.
Gently, Levi lifts your chin. You open your eyes; he's looking at you through hooded eyes. "C'mere," he mutters, voice heavy with sleep, and he leans in.
