It's Levi. It's actually Levi, lips moving, eyes filled with urgency, and you think you can make out what he's saying. He's saying your name, repeating it constantly, like it's a mantra.
His other hand rises to your face. "Hey, hey, Ang," he's saying now, "come on, talk to me. Say something."
Say something. "Levi," you manage.
You see it immediately: relief. The stress in Levi's expression drops, and he says something else, but you can't hear him anymore. It feels like all the blood is rushing around in your head, limiting your senses, and it takes everything in you to launch yourself forward.
Your arms go over Levi's shoulders and you bury your nose into the shoulder of his jacket. You can hear him better now ("I've got you, come on, up") as his arms go around your back, gathering you into him, and you feel him rise, pulling you with him.
What happens next, you really don't know. You let Levi pull you around, keeping your eyes scrunched shut to protect them from the wind. Levi's wrapped something around your face- a scarf, maybe?- and it's helping shield your face.
Who knows how long passes- seconds, minutes, hours, but probably not hours- but suddenly, there's a massive blast of heat, and you nearly gasp. Levi's saying something to you, but you can't make out his exact words; it's like there's something bouncing around in the inside of your skull, making a faint drumming noise that's drowning him out.
Everything feels tingly. Like your body's on fire. It's a strange feeling.
Sounds are coming to you a bit better now, because you can start to distinguish voices. It's not just Levi: there's other voices, all sharp and painful in your head. You blink rapidly, trying to clear your vision and figure out what's going on.
Hands touch your cheeks. It's like fire shooting through your skin. You force your eyesight to focus, and you find that you're looking directly into Levi's eyes.
He's got pretty eyes. Really pretty eyes. "Hey," Levi murmurs, fingers tapping against your cheek. "Blink once if you can hear me."
Easy enough. You blink.
"Are you cold? Once for yes, twice for no."
Not really, actually, now that he mentions it. Mostly just numb at this point. You blink twice, which causes a chorus of murmurs that you can't distinguish, but you think you hear someone say, "that's not good." Why not? You don't want to be cold.
Levi's saying something else, but it's hard to register what. His fingers tap your cheek again and you jolt awake. "No passing out," he scolds. "Come on. I've got you."
The next ten minutes are just... chaotic. Levi's holding you the whole time- you think- and you're being pulled around, and you think your boots are pulled off, and you're trying your best not to pass out like Levi told you to, but god are you tired. Granted, the chaos makes it a bit hard to be exhausted in peace, so you don't pass out, but you've got a nasty migraine.
Your coat's pulled off, blankets are piled onto you, people keep cycling in and out, but eventually, Levi must shuttle them all out, because everything gets really quiet all of a sudden. You're sitting now, sitting on the floor right in front of your bed, back resting up against the frame.
More fingertips on your face. "Passed out?" you hear Levi ask.
"No," you murmur. You want to raise your hand to cover his, but you're too tired.
You hear him sigh softly. "Thought you did," he murmurs, thumb rubbing over your cheekbone.
You try to smile. "You told me not to."
