When you're a few feet away, you murmur, "do you want to get out of the house?"
Levi removes his hands from his forehead and tips his head to look at you. "Out of the house."
"Out of the house," you confirm, nodding.
"And do what?"
You hadn't quite thought that far ahead. You frown, pinching your lips together. Levi's staring at you, no longer looking frustrated but more... intrigued. Well, now you've got to come up with something. Does he even want to? "Never mind," you say quickly, losing all of your bravado. "It's a silly idea."
"No, it's not." He sits up. "Keep going."
Oh. Okay, then. "Uh..." you trail off, still trying to think. Your drive through town yesterday comes to mind, and you straighten up. "The Christmas markets in town," you say. "We could go to those."
"I thought you didn't like crowds."
"I don't." You frown. "We could avoid the crowds."
His eyebrows rise. "Avoid the crowds in a Christmas market."
"Yeah. You're rich, just pay them all to leave."
That earns you a smirk, which makes your lips twitch in return. "You're willing to go brave the crowds," Levi says, standing up, "in the cold. Two things you hate."
"Pros of fake dating me," you say. "I'll put up with it."
He stares at you for a moment, like he's trying to make sure you're serious. "Alright," Levi agrees. "Let's do it. Dress warm."
"Seriously?"
"Seriously. Unless you don't want to-"
"No, I do. We can- yeah, let's do it."
The two of you stay put for a moment, waiting for hesitation from each other. Eventually, Levi rolls his eyes and wanders to his closet, and you let your grin split across your face as you go to your suitcase to find one of your warmest sweaters.
A few minutes later, you're wrapped up in a thick sweater and you're rummaging through your bag for your hat and gloves, and Levi comes out of his closet wearing a black turtleneck. It's a good look on him. "Ready?" he calls, moving towards the wall where your coats are hung up.
"Yep," you confirm, heading toward him, and he hands you your coat. "Thank you- won't you be cold?"
He's pulling on his leather jacket. "I'll be fine," Levi says casually, rolling his neck in a loose circle. "Let's go."
"Just looking at you is making me cold."
"How does that even work?"
"It just does."
You and Levi head out of his room, and he links his hand with yours as you pass by a few maids in the hallway. But when you're by them, he doesn't let go, and you're fine with having his hand in yours as he leads you to the front door.
The butler brings the car around, and then you're bundled up and ready to go. The car is already warm when you get in, and with a happy sigh, you murmur, "I'm never going to get used to this," as Levi scoffs and starts to drive.
The drive into town passes fast, and before you know it, you're back to admiring the holiday lights as Levi drives through the city. They had been so pretty yesterday, when you'd come into town for dress shopping, and there's a bit of extra beauty to them now, knowing you're going to be wandering beneath them soon enough.
Levi finds space in a local plaza to park, and when you hop out of the car, it's not as cold as you were anticipating. You smile to yourself, eyes fixed on the market that looks like it's only a block or two up.
