Levi turns to you. "It's going to have to be you. I don't ask people out."
"Neither do I," you reply.
"You technically agreed to the date first."
Your mouth opens, then closes. He's got you there. "Fine," you agree begrudgingly. You turn back to Hange. "I asked him if he'd want to get coffee again sometime," you tell them. "He agreed, and it was natural from there."
"Who kissed who first?"
"I did," Levi says.
Works for you. You look back to Hange, who has started pacing around your living room, and they continue, "have you guys discussed PDA? Because you're going to have to kiss at some point if you want any of this to be believable!"
"Have you done this before?" Levi grumbles.
"No, but I've been doing my research?"
"Research- never mind, I don't want to know."
"We've talked about PDA," you say quickly, to keep Hange from talking about whatever kind of research they might have done. "Neither of us are really huge on it. So we'll- we can keep it minimal. As long as we're kind of... cuddly, I guess, around my family, then we'll be okay."
"And it'll be enough to do the bare minimum with my family," Levi adds. "Are we done yet? I need to-"
"Hush, child, you know nothing," Hange chides.
"Child?" He sits up. "What-"
Hange holds up a hand, gesturing for Levi to shut up. "There's going to be moments where they're watching you when they think you don't notice them, and you'll still have to act all lovey-dovey, and maybe make out a bit!"
"What kind of drama movies have you been watching?" you mutter.
"I'm serious!"
"Then we'll cross that bridge when we come to it," Levi says. "Are we done now?"
"Never!" Hange insists. "What's your plan? How many days at whose house?"
You glance at Levi, but he's looking at you, so you take the reins on this one. "We're going to his place first on the 24th," you say. "And we're there until the 28th, after his- his family gala thing. And then we're going to my place until New Year's."
"Christmas Eve!" they exclaim. "Cutting it close!"
"The least amount of time, the better," Levi mutters.
"And you're cool with missing Christmas with your family, Angel?"
"Completely," you agree.
"So you two have Christmas presents for each other, then. For when you do Christmas with Levi's family."
...oh. You hadn't thought of that.
Hange points an accusing finger at you, and you figure the confusion must show on your face. You seize a pillow from your couch and press it to your face to muffle your groan. "See? You two need me," they gloat.
"We don't," Levi says, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"I'll just- I'll just give him something of mine to gift to me on the day, and he can give me something of his," you say, exasperated. "Is that sufficient?"
"Fine by me," Levi mutters at the same time Hange says, "no it's not!"
You sigh. "Is that all, Hange?"
"No! You need photos!"
"I would rather die than get my picture taken."
"So dramatic and for what, Levi?"
