"What the hell is wrong with me?!" You wonder to yourself desperately, while you were bound by your wrists. Even if you were to free yourself, it would not matter. You were completely paralyzed; with no chance of escape. You were at the mercy of the person who was surely going to make you pay for what you did; and there would definitely be no mercy.

To think, that all of this started when you thought he had died during a mission. The carelessness of it all! You should have known better, but when Deidara came to you with the news, you became pale. "I'm sorry. I don't know what else to say." He said in a tone you found sympathetic.

Your room is where you took refuge for hours on end. You would have gone to Sasori's room, since that is where you usually would go, but it would be too painful. It was too early, you decided. Right now, staring at the walls seemed more appealing.

You tried to find someone to blame. But you did not want to risk going to Pein's office and receiving sympathetic looks from the other members of your team. Besides, what could you do if you did indeed find out who killed him? No, now was a time of contemplation.

The tears never came. Maybe you were still in a state of shock. It should not have hurt this much.

It was now dusk, you were barley certain; night. You let out a long sigh and held your face in your hands. You both agreed to know the risks of having a relationship. Was it even worthy of being called a relationship? Technically he made you promise that there would be no feeling, no strings attached (no pun intended). There would be no romantic nonsense; it would only be sexual. At the time that is what you wanted, but silly you, no were never really good at following orders.

Maybe this was a nightmare. Yeah, that was probably it, because there was someone knocking at your door. That someone was Deidara. "What do you want?" You asked bitterly, answering the door with a frown. You and he never really got along. He knew what was going in between you and Sasori and deliberately flirted with you to try and piss him off. His good looks didn't exactly help. It wasn't just the flirting though, he was the most annoying person you knew, always bothering you whenever he had the chance, throwing pick up lines, or making jokes about you and Sasori. 'It's none of your God-damned business!' That was a phrase you used constantly with him. But now, he seemed normal (as far as normal could go around this place).

"I don't think you should be by yourself right now." He said.

"You didn't answer my question." You said. You saw the ghost of a smile on his lips which you should have been worried about.

"Is it really that wrong for me to actually be concerned for someone that I care about un?" He asked as if he and you were friends that went way back. For a moment you were distracted by his lips. They looked so different from Sasori's, and you wondered if they felt different too. The pyromaniac in front of you snapped you out of your daze and you mentally scolded yourself. "(Y/n)? Earth to (Y/n)." He said in a singsong voice.

"Oh, sorry-"

"Wait, did you just apologize to me? This thing must have hit you hard then." He said, shaking his head. Instead of waiting for your permission, realizing that you would not give it to him, he decided to let himself in and sit down on your bed. You let out a big sigh, not having the energy to "properly" escort him out.

"What do you want, Deidara?" You repeated. "It's obvious that you're not interested in watching me mope all night." You said, crossing your arms over your chest.

"Well that's just it, isn't it? You need someone to cheer you up, and I ain't leaving until you have a smile on that pretty face of yours, un." He said with a smirk that you knew he knew you found kinda cute. But it wasn't enough to lift you out of your sullen mood.
