THE HEAVENLY SMELL of honey and salt fill up Rachel's nostrils as she worked on kneading the dough for the french bread she was currently baking. It was the only thing taking her mind off what had happened this morning. Even thinking about it now made Rachel want to sink into a puddle and never come back up

How could she have been so stupid? How could she be so careless?

It was honestly like one of those stupid movies that you see around Christmas time where the main character tumbles into the arms of the love interest and for some reason, Rachel had seen how pretty the woman she bumped into was, with long blonde hair and startling blue eyes that Rachel swore she got lost in for a moment and then before she could realise what was happening, her mouth had taken the lead over her brain and she was asking the woman out, all blushing and awkward

It was something that Rachel hardly ever did but she couldn't deny the thrill that shot down her spine at the prospect of taking the blonde woman out and learning more about her as it seemed both she and her sister had whipped the town into some kind of frenzy

And if that wasn't enough of a miracle, the woman had agreed and actually flipped Rachel's words on their head and ended up asking her for a drink as thanks for the tip that she had given the Sherriff's department, earlier that morning, noticing someone breaking into Mr Gold's house and as much as that man chilled her to the bone, she also knew nobody deserved that kind of fate

It was only when she got home that she had no idea what the blonde's name was.

It played on her mind all day -- what name could belong to such a beautiful person who was beautiful on the outside and it made Rachel want to know more about her, how she got to this miserable town where nothing seems to happen.

It made her feel trapped, but it wasn't like she could leave as she had nowhere else to go.

She always had nowhere to go

A voice inside of her told her she was lucky to be here, and a bead of sweat collected on her forehead and continued its path down her face until Rachel Woods got so tired of it, momentarily  forgetting she had flour dusted over her hands and it was now smeared across her forehead, swiftly she let out a low curse before sighing

It's better she got cleaned up anyway, judging by the late hour and the way twilight greeted the afternoon like an old friend, if she didn't start getting ready soon then she would be late for her date with this mysterious woman

She finished up with what she had to do before the blonde turned away from her work and headed up the stairs, taking them two by two, anxiety making her movements jerky but she pressed on

Upstairs there was a single door leading to her cramped apartment. The space itself was small with only a bathroom with a toilet and a boxed in shower that was seemingly too small for even one person, a bedroom that was more the size of a shoe box that didn't have room for anything but a single bed and one night stand (Rachel always made sure there was fresh flowers stuffed in a vase that she kept on it) and lastly there was a slightly larger living room with a kitchenette attached with a single coffee table in the middle of the room opposite a corner sofa that was squished against the wall
