"My heart is broke, but I have some glue"

"SUMMERS almost over. They gave me everything now they're taking it all away." I complained while surrounded by my friends in the basement.

"Who's they?" Gwen asked.

"School! What a monster!" I exclaimed.

"I haven't even started my summer reading. So I'm reading one line from each book." Ozzie spoke.

Nikki turned to the group with a smile, "There's lots to love about a new school year, new home rooms, the smell of fresh textbooks, getting up early to learn."

She has got to be joking.

Jay, Gwen , Ozzie and I all turned to her let out a big "BOO!"

Nate was quick to defend his girlfriend, "Hey! Go easy on her. School is cool! I mean we learn stuff and uh there are lockers.... Sorry Nik my hearts just not in it."

"Once you stop learning, you start dying." Nikki quoted Einstein.

Nate proceeded to ask if she meant the bear and that made her sigh and quit talking.

"I'm so screwed I was supposed to be working out all summer for football but instead I didn't."  Nate changed the subject.

"Bro come to my gym! I'll get you ripped." Jay spoke then flashed me a smile.

"Here check it out!" Jay exclaimed then flexed his arm.

I couldn't help but chuckle as Jay winked at me, "dork."

Jay laughed back and put his arm around me and leaned down to my ear, "You know you love it."

I felt my cheeks blush and I lightly shoved him away.

"Do not." I shook my head.

"Ok! Ok! But the blush on your cheeks says otherwise." He lightly touched my cheek before flashing me a smile.

I looked down and felt Jays hand move to my chin lifting it up.

He slowly leaned in and I smiled before doing the same.

It was a small peck but it still made me feel all giddy inside.

"Oh since it's your last weekend, I traded shifts at work so we could spend tomorrow together, I wanna take you to my special spot in the woods." Jay smiled.

"And that was the last time anyone saw her alive." Ozzie joked.

"No, for a picnic. I want to show you this overlook with an amazing view." Jay spoke while I drowned in his gaze.

"That's so romantic." I gushed.

"There's this rock up there and it looks like two people doing it. They call it the bone stone."

"Slightly less romantic but I can't wait."

"See you tomorrow beautiful." He smiled before picking up and kissing my hand.

I felt my face get hot again and gave him a small wave.

"You guys are adorable." Leia turned to me once Jay left.

"Yeah it's so nice to see mr manwhore actually like a girl." Gwen laughed.

"Im really going to miss him." I sighed.

"I can't believe tomorrow is your guys' last day." Gwen mumbled.

" I really wish we could stay." I mumbled back.

We spent the next hour taking in the reality. Taking in each others presence. Sure a year isn't long but I didn't want to lose what I just gained. I did miss Joe and the corner book store but I knew once I reached Chicago I'd miss Jay, I'd miss my friends, I'd miss point place much more. I finally met people who I enjoyed talking to, people I talked to! I didn't want to risk loosing that if I left for a year.

INSTEAD of dreading on leaving I tried to focus on the now. Which consisted of my date with Jay. I was wearing a yellow sundress that reached my knees and paired it with my Mary Janes.

Jay was at my door holding a brown weaved basket wearing a smile.

"Hi." I smiled back.

"You look beautiful."

I blushed, "You do too."

After a moment of taking in each other Jay spoke.

"Let's go?" He motioned his head to the right.

I nodded my head and we walked to the woods.

All the way there Jay held my hand, rubbing his thumb over mine from time to time.

I couldn't help but get butterflies.

"Look at the way the sunlight is hitting those branches." He observed.

"Nature can be overwhelming." I replied.

I watched the branches before Jay walked in front of me, covering my view.

He held a daisy, I assumed he picked seconds ago.

He looked into my eyes, a deep look full of lust.

Slowly putting my hair behind my ear and placing the daisy on top of it.

"It matches your dress." He grinned.

I placed my hands on both sides of his face and pulled him in placing my lips on his and deepening the kiss. I felt his grin grow bigger as I moved my hands to his waist pulling him closer.

I pulled away needing to breathe and I brushed his hair out of his eyes with a smile.

"You have the prettiest eyes." I gushed.

Jay bashfully looked down and I saw his cheeks flush.

"Cmon let's keep going." He suggested while pulling me to his side and kissing the top of my head.

Eventually we reached the overlook and it was single handedly the most perfect view I've ever seen.

The sun was just setting and It was beautiful.

"Do you like it?"

"It's perfect Jay."

"Good."

I continued to take in the nature as Jay set up the picnic.

"All done."

I heard him state and I turned around to see a smiley Jay and a spread of food.

I walked over and Jay patted in between his legs. I sat down resting my head on his chest.

"Thank you, you're the most amazing person I've ever met." I looked up.

"Anything for you Luna." He smiled while looking down.

The rest of the evening was spent watching the sun set while laughing and sitting in sweet conversation. Once we ate all the food we laid down and Jay wrapped his arms around me. It was the best feeling, being in his arms.

I really was going to miss it.

Hi guys!! I have a few questions, should I continue the story and make Luna and Leia stay in point place? Should I end the story with Luna and Leia going back to Chicago? Should I continue the story with Luna and Leia in Chicago and make chapters like "visiting for Christmas break" or long distance chapters? I am really torn on what I should do and I would really appreciate your guys' help! I appreciate all of you reading and voting for my story sm! 🫶🫶 ily
