Lilly dreams of becoming a great sorceress...
She thinks her chance has come at last when The Sorcerer leaves behind his magic hat.
She brings a broom to life to speed things along...but things soon start to go very wrong!
Can Lilly stop the magical...
Long ago, in an ancient castle in the middle of the woods, there lived an incredibly old man with a crooked nose and a long silver beard. But he wasn't just any old man; he was a sorcerer!
The Sorcerer knew how to perform all different kinds of magic. He could make objects change colour, he could make things dance, he could even create a beautiful butterfly.
But only he knew how to make the magic stop...

The Sorcerer also has an apprentice; an 8-year-old girl called Lilly.
Lilly is very pretty, with lots of bushy blonde hair and bright blue eyes. She's bright, bubbly and cheeky, and is very excited to learn magic...
...but maybe she's a little too excited!
You see, she sometimes watches her master and tries to perform some of his magic tricks before she knows how to control them... and this can land her into trouble...

The Sorcerer practiced his spells in his Workshop at the bottom of the castle. This was where he kept his huge, red spellbook, with hundreds of different spells inside.
This book was so big, Lilly thought she'd be able to ride it!
Every day, The Sorcerer practiced his magic in The Workshop, while Lilly did several chores for him, such as sweeping the floor, chopping wood, and most importantly; carrying water to the well, for The Sorcerer to use in his potions.
Lilly did enjoy helping her master, but sometimes, she wondered if her work could be...well...a little moreexciting!
"I wish I could do magic too." she often thought, sadly.

One sunny afternoon, The Sorcerer left the castle to run an errand, but not before leaving Lilly an important job to do.
She had to collect water from The Fountain, carry it down the steps, and pour it into the well in The Workshop. The Sorcerer had told Lilly not to stop until the well was full to the brim.
Lilly had groaned when he told her how she'd be spending her afternoon.
It sounded like long......slow......boring work.
And it was!

As soon as her master left, Lilly collected her buckets and reluctantly began her task...
She filled the buckets, carried the water, and poured the contents into the well.
The water made the buckets very heavy, and Lilly's arms began to ache. After a while, she felt hot, bothered and exhausted...
"Phew!" she puffed, wiping the sweat from her forehead. She looked down into the deep well and moaned...It wasn't even half full!
"Oh, this is hopeless!" complained Lilly. "At this rate, it'll be midnight by the time I'm finished!"
She sighed and closed her eyes...
"I wish I could use magic to fill the well," she thought, "...then everything would go MUCH faster!"
