Gordon Lachance pov:

"He took this before he died." I showed Eyeball the picture on the camera. He smiled. "He went out for you. He said to me that he should do something for you. He was going to walk to a place you had made memories and take a photo. Then he was going to go to your house later and say sorry about what he had done." He looked down. "It's my fault. If I hadn't been so rude to him when he talked to me then he would still be here." He turned to look at me. "No Gordie. It's not your fault. It's nobodies fault. Chris chose to go out when it was cold.  You didn't ask him to." He put his arm around me and pulled me in for another hug.

We were sat on the floor in the living room. "He died thinking I hated him." "No he didn't. He died thinking of you in a positive way." I looked at Eyeball. Tears were falling from his eyes. "Are you okay though?" "I'm good enough to get through the day." He wiped his eyes. "I know your father can't pay for these things so why don't I get my parents to arrange a funeral for Chris? I'm sure it would make everybody feel better about him." Eyeball nodded. "You'll do that? Thank you so much Gordie." He pulled me into a tight squeeze.
