Start from the beginning

She gasped quietly beneath him and it only drove him further.

Honey and sugar and coconut, oh, how delicious she smelled; she was infinitely sweeter to taste. His lips moved with purpose, as though they were designed just for hers.

She breathed him in deeply, quickly, but deeply, needing him just as much as he needed her.

"Calm down you two!"

They sprang apart, blushing heavily, equal sheepish smiles on their faces.

He'd done it, he thought with a smirk, looking down at her, his hand still around her waist, her hand placed gently on his chest. He'd finally kissed her. And fuck it all, he wanted to do it again.

Laughter rang throughout the room and Willow looked up at him, a small smile toying with her lips.

"Sorry," she mouthed.

He shook his head intermittently, placing a gentle kiss to her head.

"You wanna go somewhere private?" He asked quietly against her skin, his voice deeper than normal.

He couldn't help himself; he wanted to taste her lips again, taste every inch of her. His body yearned for her touch, for her soft skin beneath him. He wanted to hear every moan, every squeal, every gasp, every possible sound she could make. And he wanted to be the reason for them all.

She nodded under his lips and he pulled back, grabbing her hand and tugging her through the cast and crew alike, not giving a damn who saw them, towards his trailer.

The walk was quick, barely two minutes, but with every step his breathing steadied and his chest tightened. Worry filled him as she fell quiet next to him, fingers still wrapped around his own.

"Pedro, wait," she stopped them just outside the door, gripping his hand like a lifeline.

Closing his eyes, he sighed, his head falling forward a fraction. There it was; the peaceful, erratic bliss he'd felt just a moment before, taken from him before he could truly enjoy it.

"I'm sorry," she said quietly, and he turned around to face her.

Shaking his head, guilt flooded him. "No, baby," he said quickly, sternly. Was she really blaming herself? Why? Couldn't she just let herself feel, let herself be happy?

"Don't you apologize for anything," he dropped her hand, placing both of his on her cheeks. "I shouldn't have kissed you, I—"

"—Pedro, that's not—"

"—But it won't happen again. Maybe this whole," he swallowed thickly, trying to formulate the words his brain fed his mouth. He couldn't say them. He didn't want to. "Break up thing is for the better," his voice cracked, but he cleared his throat. "I'll always be here when you need me. But I think it's—I think we should get ahead of it. Stop ourselves from feeling the pain before it happens."

She opened her mouth to protest but he moved his thumb in front of it, quieting her.

"Don't." He stroked her lips, fighting everything in him not to kiss her again. "Don't make this harder. I am here for you, Willow. Always. But we can't—we don't belong together. Not like this. I'm sorry."

He watched her for a moment, hating himself, screaming internally to shut up and kiss her again. Tears formed in her eyes and a hurt expression flashed across her face.

Always so expressive, so genuine.

They said nothing more and he closed his eyes again — the only way he'd be able to truly turn around is by not looking at her — and walked away from her, leaving her standing there, just outside his trailer.

I'm sorry, he said to himself as he shut the door behind him. I'm sorry I'm not going after you, not pulling you to me. I'm sorry I can't hold you and make you feel complete.

I'm sorry.
