"i understand that you have your own issues to handle- but what i can't understand is that why can't shinichiro tell his own family about his marriage? if we knew about your situation then we would've kept our mouths shut."

this caught the two adults off guard, trying to wrack their brains for any plausible reason behind their 'marriage'.

y/n silently irked at his question, why can't the old man just accept that his grandson is already married and move on with life already?!

shinichiro wanted to die on the inside, giving his guardian a lopsided smile as he also tried to help out in their little situation that they unknowingly dug for themselves.

emma hummed, the blonde girl whispering something to her brother who nodded in understanding before the two turned to the adults.

"what if we have our own little wedding right here?!" manjiro felt like he was a scholar who discovered something worth seeing, a grin plastered on his face as he pointed at the two adults who looked at them like they've grown two heads.

the (h/c) haired woman wanted to speak up but was interrupted when the head of the family clapped in approval, giving his grandson a look that surely sent shivers down the poor man's spine.

"that settles it! we're going to give you a small wedding and none of you can do anything about it!"

"in all respect sir but we've-"

at this point, l/n y/n wished that they should've gone to her parents first before shinichiro's side of the family- wanting nothing more than to bury herself on her own burrow of blood stained money that brings her happiness.

"nonsense! as shinichiro's guardian and the one who had to change his diapers since he was a baby- i demand to see his wedding first hand!"

(e/c) eyes snapped themselves on the poor raven haired man, silently telling him to speak up or they'll get involved into something that they didn't sign up for.

her husband got the message, nervously chuckling as he tried to get his grandfather to change his mind.

"why don't we think this through? a wedding is costly and we don't have that kind of money-"

"i'll pay for it."

shinichiro did a double take, looking at the woman who was now looking calm and composed as she gave the old man a curt nod.

this is why he can't understand women- they always change their minds when you least expect it and it's honestly giving him a headache trying to understand what she's thinking.

the young woman looked at him through her peripherals, giving him a small nod that says 'play along' and he had no choice but to sigh and nod back.

"i understand that you want to see your grandson in his special day and i'm sorry that i took that away from you- as my apology gift, i'll be the one who'll pay for the expenses as well as your accomodations." this made the old man look at her in wonder, leaning in to hear more about this said 'accomodations.'

"what do you mean by accomodations?"

y/n cleared her throat, taking in a cheque from her bag as she began scribbling down random amounts of money onto the piece of paper.

"your suits and dresses, as well as your fees for the hotel that you're going to be staying in."

emma and manjiro looked at her in wide eyes, peering over her shoulder to look at the sum of money that the woman was writing- the blonde female letting out a small gasp of shock when she saw the price.

this made shinichiro grow curious as well, leaning beside her to check what his wife was writing- he wished he didn't because the amount itself made him feel like an ant.

"a million yen?!"

everyone from the sano family exclaimed as the old man was handed the cheque, y/n sitting there unbothered by the price that she had written that barely even dented her bank account- a bit amused by their shocked expressions.

"our remarriage will be held in a month. do as you please with the money and don't hesitate to reach out if you need more."

a nervous chuckle left past her husband's lips, hands guiding on top of hers as he gave her an unsure look.

"what are you doing, honey?"

the raven haired man was having an internal conflict with himself, more so of guilt since his wife was the one who paid for his families expenses and is currently going to be the one who'll pay for their little 'marriage'.

he naturally felt bad for having to use her money in something that could've been avoided- even if she's rich, that doesn't stop him from feeling an ounce of guilt because of this.

the young woman chuckled, giving him a reassuring smile as the two ignored the commotion that's happening in front of them.

"i'm just giving them a wedding that they deserve. don't you think that too, darling?"
