Y/N is a divorced 24 year old musician, the lead singer/guitarist of the popular band Midnite Sun, and also dating Elizabeth Olsen. Following the events of the first book, Y/N is making plans to spend forever with a certain actress, building the fut...
That has Lizzie looking back up at me, a confused frown forming on her features. "Because you were scared? Of what?"
"Of you. Of what I felt after meeting you. I guess I knew from that first moment that I had feelings for you, even if I didn't want to admit it. And Mia was there, visiting Skylar, and...it just happened."
I can feel Lizzie's eyes on me as we continue walking, all thoughts of our tour and plans from earlier completely forgotten. I do, however, pause us outside the tattoo parlor, knowing that it would be less likely for us to be overhead here.
"Do you ever think about what would have happened if you said yes instead of no?"
Where the line of questioning was coming from, I had no idea, but I didn't like where this conversation had headed. Not when I knew the woman next to me was the person I'd willingly spend the rest of my life with, who held my heart in her hands. So with a quick shake of my head I meet Lizzie's gaze, giving the brunette a small smile. "No, I don't. Because that would mean that you and I wouldn't be together, and that's something I never want to think about. My heart was always meant to find yours, Lizzie."
The brunette returns my smile, dropping my hand just to cup my face in her hands before brushing our lips together. "Well then you'd better hurry up and marry me already."
Chuckling, I glance up at the tattoo shop's sign, an idea instantly forming. "I can't give you a ring right now, but I can think of something else to promise you forever until then."
Lizzie gives me a confused look before I duck into the tattoo shop, practically dragging her along with me. The owner of the shop recognizes me instantly, and after pulling him aside with my request he agrees to squeeze me in for a quick walk-in. When he slides a piece of copy paper over towards me, I instantly hold a pen out towards Lizzie, giving her a bright smile. "Write down the word 'forever' for me, babe."
The brunette, still looking confused as ever, does as I ask. "Why?"
"I'm gonna get it as a tattoo. Just until you get that ring."
The smile Lizzie gives me is dazzling, and after a quick, but extremely hot kiss, Lizzie gives me the greenlight to get it done. We make a few minor adjustments, and after having Lizzie add a small-drawn heart to it, I'm satisfied with the final product and start to shed my jacket so we can get started. The overall tattoo doesn't take too very long, and Lizzie sits by my side the entire time with her smile firmly in place.
Orion gives the tattoo one last wipe before leaning back, giving me a small smile. "There ya go. What do you think?"
I stare down at the freshly-marked area of my skin, having chosen to get it tattooed on my left forearm, eyes tracing over Lizzie's familiar handwriting with a small smile. "It's perfect, Ori. Thank you for squeezing me in."
Once he has the saniderm wrap over the tattoo, Orion gives me another smile before moving to clean up his station. "Anything for our little hometown rockstar. It's always a privilege to tattoo you, Y/N. Plus it makes for great advertisement. Do you mind if I snap a picture for social media?"
Making sure that it was okay with Lizzie, I give him permission and let him snap a few pictures of the new tattoo and even a few of us together for the shop's pages. Your first tattoo is a special experience, and I'll always hold this shop in a special place in my heart. Even more now that he's done this tattoo for me. After paying, and leaving a big tip for him, Lizzie and I exit the tattoo shop and I start us towards a small diner that sits perfectly center on Main Street for lunch.
"I can't believe you got that tattooed."
I shrug, holding the door open for Lizzie before following her inside. "You think it'll hold you over for a bit? I mean you literally have forever with me in writing now."
The brunette chuckles as she slides into one of the booths, green eyes sparkling in the afternoon sun. "I still want my ring."
Smiling, I simply shake my head before the two of us get lost in conversation and realize just how much I'm looking forward to this. To forever with Lizzie.
This chapter ended up being so long that I decided to break it down into two parts, so you all will get your smutty New Year's chapter next. I promise. I also hope this kind of clears up the whole Mia thing. I hadn't originally planned to have her character in the story, it just kind of happened and I realized that I never included her in earlier chapters, especially considering that her and Y/N last slept together when this story technically takes place. So if it's still confusing for any of you here's how it goes: Y/N met Mia when she first came to LA, they were friends and Mia introduced Y/N to Skylar and the rest of the band. Then the band formed and sometime before Y/N got married to Sawyer, her and Mia got drunk and slept together for the first time. Then it never happened until after Y/N and Sawyer split, right before Mia moved to Maine for a job. Mia was going to stay, because she had feelings for Y/N and Y/N didn't, so she told her to go and that they were just friends. Then Mia left, and Y/N hadn't seen or heard from her since. The same weekend that Lizzie and Y/N meet Mia is in town visiting Skylar and her and Y/N end up sleeping together again, and then Mia leaves again. And Mia thought that whatever happened between her and Y/N meant that Y/N finally developed feelings for her and moved back, not knowing that Y/N and Lizzie got together. And no one knew they slept together, save for Leon and that's only because in this story he kind of walked in on them one time and Y/N didn't want to cause drama because Mia is Skylar's little sister. So no one knew, so that's why it was never mentioned, because no one knew. Not even Scarlett. I hope that clears it all up! Lol.
And if you're wondering what Y/N's tattoo looks like, below is basically what I imagined her getting, the same spot on the left forearm just in Lizzie's handwriting and with a little hand-drawn heart at the end rather than the number.
