Willow POV
"Goodnight mum!" I called out down the hallway, "Night Grandma!" I make my way into my room, nudging the door shut behind me. I flop onto my bed, throwing a pillow to the side and out of my way. I turn my head to look out the window. The moon is still low in the sky, shining its light into my room. I stretch my arms out and turn to look up at the ceiling instead. I trace the shapes of various water stains with my eyes.
The sound of my mother's voice carries through the walls. She must be tucking in my little sisters. Surely she's telling those stupid stories again. About Peter Pan. She should really stop filling their heads with stories about lost boys and pirates. I sigh, pushing myself up from my bed.
I wander over to the window, opening it and taking a deep breath of the night air. The city of London spans out around me. The houses seem to go on forever. I sit down on the cushioned bench pushed against the wall, reaching for the book I left on the small side table the night before. I elbow the pillow behind me before I allow myself to relax, opening my book to the small slip of paper that marks where I left off.
I wake up to a soft thud from outside the window. I'm not sure when I fell asleep, but my book lays discarded on the floor. My eyes, blurry from sleep, half focus on my bed across the room. I stretch out my muscles, reminding myself a bench isn't the best place to fall asleep, and stand up. I lean down to pick up my book, but as I do a sudden pain blossoms on the back of my head.
Instinctively I reach for my head. Darkness eats at the edges of my vision. The room spins as I lose my balance and fall to the floor. The wood is cold under my palms. The cold breeze of a London night chills my skin. Some part of me must have realized that the window was still open. I turn quickly, struck by another wave of dizziness.
The silhouette of a man stands in the window sill. I barely register a sack being thrown over my head. The pain sturs around in my mind. The last thing I hear before the darkness takes over is a man's voice as someone grabs my arm. "Alright ya bloody idiots, get 'er on the ship. The Captain's expecting her."
James POV
The girl lay unconscious on the deck, her curly brown hair spilling out of the burlap sack over her head. She had been out several hours now since we had taken her from her bedroom in London. The daughter of Wendy Darling. I could see the resemblance. Less so with the sack over her head, but it was still there.
Peter is stupid and naive. He won't be able to tell the difference, at least not right away. He would come to save her and I would cut him down. He will die for what he did to my father. He may act innocent and childish, but he is a killer like the rest of us. He proved that much when he killed my father. The great Captain Hook. His life ended by a mere child. Anyone that knew him though, would know he wasn't as great as the tall tales suggest. My father was a coward. That doesn't mean I won't kill to avenge his honor after death.
I was broken out of my thoughts as the girl began to stir. I glanced at my first mate who stood near the door. I gave a nod, a silent message for him to leave the room. I will be the first the girl sees when she wakes up. A muffled groan carries its way through the air. I stand, taking a step toward the girl's curled-up form. I crouch down, dragging the sack off of her head and tossing it to the side.
Her eyes flutter, squinted and unused to the dim light of the room. When her eyes open, I see for a moment a small spark of fear and confusion before the girl schools her expression into a more neutral one and focuses her eyes on me.
"Who the hell are you?" she mutters. Her voice is scratchy from its recent lack of use.
The edge of my mouth twitches into a half grin. "Name's James Hook."
