The Memories!

*Vaishnavi's POV*

Did I just think about the mansion? I Think Mummaa says it right I am obsessed with the novels I read. Yeah! Surely, it's the thing. I chuckled as lightly as I could not grab the attention of others. Still listening to my favourite songs. Mansion... Oops, the same mistake. Palace. Yeah, Palace. It's still a 20 minutes drive from this security checkpoint.

We are all tired and sleepy, and me, what to say? I am not even a bit sleepy and tired is not in my dictionary for now. I am a bit of just... umm, somehow more energetic than any other in my family. That's why I remember that I ran back to the palace from school after hearing that dadi-sa fainted. Even though it is a 40 minutes drive. DRIVE! And depended on your speed when you will reach and yeah it will be after 40-50 minutes.

But I reached there after 20 minutes of receiving the call from chachi-sa. I still don't know how I did that, but I know that my clothes were all soaked in sweat, sticking to me as if my second skin.

I sweat terribly in the summers. I was running, and it was July, so I was... I don't wanna imagine, it was so disgusting. Yuck!

Soon the palace came to my site. As beautiful as ever.

We have two palaces, one owned by my ancestors of my chote dada-sa (younger grandfather) and one by my dada-sa. This is of dada-sa. Or now my daddy, I prefer calling Papa, daddy.

It is just like any other but its base from the outside was designed by a British architect. That design went under changes by some Indian architects, not removing the beautiful designs, resulting in a unique yet traditional feeling design.

It may be a palace with thick walls and all, but it is as high-tech as it could be. Full wifi, 24/7 electricity, all electronic equipment, CCTV cameras in important rooms and all over the outside of the palace, etc...etc.

The other one we visit on our weekends or any day randomly. It is more with the design of tradition and culture. But again, it's also high-tech.

As we reached, we knew that we were the last one to come because of the previous incident, as we saw a clear post. Not even a single soul, I ignored the guards here. Well, isn't it obvious, it's gonna be midnight in 2 hours.

We entered the main entrance and passed two halls and many corridors. We finally reached the main hall chamber, which was more open and spacious than other halls. There sat dada-sa, dadi-sa, daddy, Mumma, Kartik chacha-sa also went to sit there along with chachi-sa.

It seemed more like an adult gathering, so I went straight to my chamber. It was more peaceful and quiet today than usual. But it was oddly satisfying. I saw all my siblings sitting in another hall on couches but never mind, I prefer my chamber and being mostly alone.

As I was passing through the corridors, suddenly all the memories started to come in front of my eyes and on top of that a sad song was playing, a sad love story movie song. I saw my younger self running here and there giggling, sometimes behind Rohan or sometimes being the one to make Rohan run behind me. Dada-sa and me playing hide and seek on holidays and weekends.

I felt my eyes get filled with tears as a memory of me and Daddy came when he was going on a business trip and I was hugging him as he picked me up. I didn't want to let him go on the trip.

I wiped the tears which unknowingly rolled down my cheeks and continued to walk as if nothing happened, but I know that there was a storm taking place inside me. I felt like crying, screaming, and hugging someone, but no one was around so I just ignored my emotions and tried to jog to the pop song.

It was hard to suppress those memories that were dear to me, well not to lie all of them were. The memories and I were both on the verge to break, but holding on, I went to my chamber which was still two corridors away.
