EVERYONE IS BORN, but not everyone is born the same. Some will grow to be butchers, or bakers, or candle-stick makers. Some will only be really good at making Jello Salad.
In the magical world, some will grow to be healers, aurors, professors, or potion makers. Some will only be really good at politics.
One way or another though, every being is unique. For better or worse. Kalia Aconitum Potter-Black was a platinum-haired, mint eyed, athletically built girl with a calm disposition and strategic mind.
Kal was left on the doorsteps of Number Four of Privet Drive in Surrey England at 11:59 P.M. on November 1st, 2001, as an orphan of fifteen-months old. Her aunt and uncle didn't want the child, yet they didn't have the heart to throw her to the system.
The Dursleys were so wrapped up in their own silly lives that they barely noticed they had a niece. They had placed a large bed in the attic, bought large blankets and pillows, a few sheet sets, and Petunia had gotten a few rolls of fabric and the things needed to make clothes by hand before calling it a day.
Had they paid any attention at all, they'd have realized that she was an extraordinary child. By the time she was two, Kal had learned what most people learn in their early thirties... how to take care of herself. She was already washing, dressing, cleaning, and feeding herself.

FREE CLASSES FOR ALL AGES was quickly noticed by the Dursleys and so when Vernon headed off to work each morning he would drop Kal off and pick her up on his way home.
They never paid attention to what the classes were for and so Kal began to develope a wide set of skills and instincts. Everything from sports and dance to art and music to weapons and martial arts to reading and writing.
She had classes on sewing and on caligraphy, classes on painting and drawing, classes on swimming and running, classes on languages and history. She went from one course to the next, sometimes repeating the course if she didn't feel she had it perfected and hammered it into her instincts.

FOUR YEARS OF AGE and yet Kalia Potter-Black knew she was different from everyone else and that whatever she wanted in life, she would have to get it herself. She had developed a sense of style so she dressed differently than everyone else and made her own clothes and did her own hair.
She spent no more than an hour each week with her aunt and uncle. The Dursleys saw that she was old enough to make her own way to and from classes and so she saw them even less.
Kal had more time than classes and that was how she learned of the library. Mrs. Rayne was a kind old woman who took one look at Kal and took her under her wing.
The old woman owned the library, was a widow, and had no children. She showed Kal which books to start with and as she made her way through each book carefully, the woman gifted Kal with a beautiful fountain pen and a leather-bound journal which the child began to take notes in.
She spent one month working through each book, workbook, puzzle, and game in the children's section while taking careful and beautiful notes in her journal.
Mrs. Rayne was fascinated by Kalia's mind and dedication and noticed that the child was there at dawn each morning and despite leaving for a few hours each day, Kal was there for at least six hours a day.
Mrs. Rayne was worried for Kal and so she dedicated herself to helping the girl. The kind woman taught Kalia how to make a nice schedule and began to feed her breakfast and dinner.
Kalia had worked her way through the other sections of the library and Mrs. Rayne would help Kalia master each skill she could gain from each books while learning herself.
It was the start of a beautiful bond and soon, Kalia was spending more and more time with Mrs. Rayne who she began to call 'Grams'. This led to the start of a large organic greenhouse of fruits and vegetables in the yard behind the library.

KALIA STARTED SCHOOL with her cousin. Dudley had tried to bully her with his friends, and yet they never managed. She was never found by him and his thugs that despite being bullies would never hit a girl.
Kalia spent her lunch and recess in the school library. Her strong mind continued to grow, expanding her knowledge and skills, developing her magic in ways not expected.
She was so obviously different from the other students that many of the teachers gave her advanced work and side project to keep her mind busy. So, when she wasn't at school, the library, or classes, she was keeping her skills sharp.

KALIA WAS SIX when she encountered runic languages in her community languages class. She had learnt to control her accidents, letting out the wind energy inside her through art and martial arts.
The introduction to runic languages gave the brilliant mind an idea. And so Kalia made her own Runic language to channel her magic. Within a year, Kal had created enough runes to create tools to make drawing and activating them easier. This was called a Stele.
She placed one on her skin after using it to turn a rock into a diamond. After that her tears formed into rare jewels like blue diamonds and such. This rune sparked many ideas and soon she was covering her body in runes in beautiful designs which she carefully covered.
Her magical accidents became rare and she began to make jewelry from the jewels of her tears. She made a beautiful bracelet that turned into a sword, she upgraded her Stele, a set of six throwing ring daggers, and a beautiful dagger out of her jewels all with runes in them.
She was maturing and becoming a very powerful person without even realizing. She enhanced herself in ways no one ever had before. Succeeding in ways none had.
She had created a language, beautiful and powerful that was much different than the runic languages of the magical world. This language could be used in active combat, not spoken, but drawn.
She hadn't just created a language, she had created her own branch of magic.

PREPARE FOR THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST. That was her motto. Kal had expanded a beautiful trunk she was gifted by Grams and seperated it into compartments.
One was a greenhouse of organic fruits and vegetables with a rune that was technically a small sun. The second was a pantry for her food. Another was a library with thousands of books and her set of three beautiful black leather-bound journals. The fourth was for objects like blankets, towels, cloth, pillows, bags, etc. And the final was her wardrobe.
She had everything she needed to survive alone in the wild or desert. She kept it shrunk in a rune on her inner left wrist.
Grams had taught Kalia a lot of things, had guided her, and didn't ask questions when Kalia's scar disappeared or about the jewelry she was helping the girl sell.
