JUNE BOUNCED HER LEG UP and down as she thought about her blonde bestfriend. Where was she? Was she somewhere she shouldn't be? Was she in trouble? God, the aching thought was like a stab in the back.

No calls, no texts, no letters. June was heart broken. Yes, it's only been two days but they had a fully on love confession and no call back. She felt, used.

Like she had an off button. A button that only Sarah had access to. Her love for her could pause one moment and resume the next which only made her hate herself more.

But, those thoughts were soon to be true.

Sarah Cameron smiled at John B, her eyes fluttering in joy, "And I though you were this really laid-back, surfer, dude-bro. And it turns out, you are on a paternal jihad."

"Yeah, I'm just trying to get this letter translated." But, he was a liar. At first, he was using her for a clean up, then, he needed her access, now, all he wanted was too kiss her. Kiss Sarah. The girl he knew June was silently head over heels for. The girl he grew with was in love with Sarah Cameron whom he wanted to kiss.

"Here.. to breaking expectations." They flirted smiling at eachother.

"Can I ask you a question?" John B asked.

"Depends on what you say." Sarah smiled. "What's your deal with June? You know, your best friend?" Sarah chuckled, "I know who June is. And she's my best friend, like you said."

"That's it?" Sarah paused. Did June tell him? Was she spilling their business? "Of course. Did she tell you anything?"

"No. No, she is very secretive when it comes to you. She cares about you a lot." At this moment John B was debating his feelings for the Cameron girl. But, something like this you couldn't forget about.

"I'm sure she does." She lightly smiled. "So what are we gonna do when we get back?"

"What do you mean?" Sarah furrowed her eyebrows. "You know," John B looked at her then his feet. "This?" Sarah flirted, pointing at the two of them.

"Yeah. This." He smiled, chuckled to himself.

"I guess we just go back to normal." She shrugged. "Right? I'll go back to the bubble." Sarah referrenced, "Like, Topper back to the bubble?"

"Yeah."

In this moment, Sarah knew something was wrong.

She felt things— many things. Her heart whispered June but her mind screamed John B. She didn't know what to do. And she really wanted to kiss him. Kiss him until she couldn't think or breath. Almost like what happened with June. She just didn't know what she wanted and Sarah Cameron was extremely indecisive.

"And I guess you'll go back to being a fugitive?"

"Yeah." The air was extremely awkward amongst them, and the sound of the ocean was the only thing keeping them.

Sarah just couldn't help herself could she? Couldn't wait until she cleared things up with June. No. Her best friend wasn't on her mind when his lips were on hers. Or Topper.

The only things she thought about was him. I'm this moment. Something so sweet could be so selfish in seconds. But, she thought of it as changing her mind. She loved her best friend. Beyond it, actually. June was just so kind. To kind, you would suppose.

Because now, her gullible mind was being played with. The kisses that were shared were nothing. It didn't mean anything. Obviously it didn't. They couldn't have. Right?

"Don't let it get in your head," June comforted Pope, handing him the supplies as he helped him shelve the foods, "Right. Three of us four of them."

"That's typical kook shit right there." JJ explained, "Hell yeah."

"What was your thought process? Using your head?" June remembered the incident smiling at him and waiting for an answer. "I don't know man, I just acted off instinct."

"And that stunt you pulled, June, scared the shit out of me im not gonna lie. Thought you were gonna slice that bitch." JJ expressed, as June smiled, "I wanted to. But, jail isn't for me." The pogues laughed at that one.

"Hey, Pope, someone here to see you." Mr. Heyward said, the sheriff following behind him. June immidently stood up from her seat infront of Pope, grabbing his wrist in slight fear and comfort, practically telling him to breathe as she held his pulse,

"I have an arrest warrant for felony destruction of property, excuse me," he pushed June, ignoring her protest, "Keep your hands on the counter. Take a look at the warrant."

"No. You cannot take him!" Kiara yelled. June put a hand on her head as she followed him out the door, "Pope, your okay. Shoupe, you can't do this!" June yelled, rushing after him, "I can and I am."

Everything stopped as she suddenly noticed the blonde boy standing behind her in a quiet act, she knew what he was going to do and when she looked up at him the scared and determined look on his face said absolutely everything,

"It was me!"

He screamed in one swift motion, Shoupe pausing in the process of walking towards the car. "He tried to talk me out of it. But I was mad because he's just been beaten up. I was so sick of those assholes from Figure Eight that I lost my shit." June let the tears go to her eyes as she hit her nail.

"I can't let you take the blame for somethin that I did."

"You've got to much to lose." JJ shrugged, "JJ, what are you doing?"

"I'm telling the truth. For once in my goddamn life, im gonna tell the truth. I took his old man's boat, too." June put a hugging arm around her own body as she looked at the scene, "Jj come on."

"Just shut up Pope! Just shut up. He's a good kid. You know where I'm from. This was all me." JJ spoke up. "This all true?" Shoupe looked at the boy in hand cuffs, "All of it." JJ added, "I know what you think dammit im asking Pope!"

"Yeah, that about covers it." Pope mumbled, as June let out a breathe she didn't know she was holding in.

June let tears fall from her eyes as she watched Pope freak out, muffling a cry as she walked away, "June." Kiara's distant voice said as she shook her off.

She wanted Sarah. In this moment. She wanted to feel her hugging her and telling her that everything will be okay. That her friends will be fine. But, the many calls she placed and the voicemails she knew Sarah was probably with Sarah all weekend.

"Fuck, fuck." June immediately called her lawyer, her shaking hands causing her phone to drop. But the feeling of two hands picking it up for her was felt as the curly haired girl gave her a comforting smile.

"Breathe for me okay?" Kiara placed a light hand on her shoulder trying to comfort her but that only made her more tense. She realized and pulled her hands off her quickly. "I'm sorry. About all of this. Everything." June looked up at her words.

"You might hate me but, for once just let me comfort you." Kiara's soft words shot daggers into her chest. But, her mind still drew to Sarah. "You didn't say that before." Her mind went to her birthday and looked at the floor.

"I regret that. A lot." June nodded, a scoff escaping her lips, "Right. That's why your still friends with Camilla?" Kiara shook her head, "No. We were friends but after what happened I cut her off completely. No ties." June nodded.

"Friends? Really Kie? You still deny it?" Kiara shook her head, "I loved you. I did. But, Camilla was just there. And so we're you. At the wrong time." June shook her head, "Okay, fuck you."

"That's not what I meant, June."

"Yes it is! It's exactly what you meant to say. Say more. Go on. Write me a fucking letter while your at it!" She shouted, hiccuping as she wiped her tears. "June, please," June shoved her off, "Just stop. Enough."

Kiara was left standing as she let tears puddle in her eyes. She wished take could take it all back.

But, wishes like that, are cursed to be forgotten.
