Chapter 2

Authors POV

"Nina!" Fabian yelled as he realized that he just dropped his lemonade, but I don't think he cared. "w-what are you doing here?" He asked.

"I came back for collage." he muttered.

"W-ha...h-how?" He asked.

"Mr. Sweet sent me a letter and I missed you all. So figured why not?" She told him.

"Oh. well I'm glad your back. and it's nice to see you" he said awkwardly.

Nina just faked a smile and looked over at Amber with a "why me" look.

When Fabian left the dinner room he rushed to his room shutting the door and leaning against it breathing hard.

"Are you okay babe?" Mara asked.

Fabian jumped! He forgot about Mara being in the room...he forgot that him and her were dating. he was just so bombarded that Nina was there and didn't even hug him or seem excited that he was here, in front of her....unless she knew about him and Mara.

Fabian soon returned to Mara and said "I'm fine" with a smiled and they returned to their dinner date.

After dinner, Nina went upstairs to her room. When she got there she sat on her bed and played with her rubber bracelet she got at a concert a couple years ago. She thought about Fabian moving on, and she knew that they were over. She thought about all the good times they'd had and all the laughs and hugs and even kisses they'd shared. As she thought all of this she was sobbing...not just sobbing but sobbing so hard it hurt everything on the inside that was until she heard giggling outside her bedroom door.

She peeked her head out off the door and saw Fabian and Mara laughing and playing around.
She decided to ease drop.

"Fabian please I'm tiered" Mara giggled.

"Okay Mara. Sweet dream love" he gave her one last goodnight kiss as she entered her room and closed the door.

Fabian stood there in silence for a moment until he walked towards Nina's door.

"Get it together Fabian" he whispered to himself. "I'm sure Nina doesn't hate me. Oh who am I kidding"

Nina quickly shut the door quietly and went to her bed and sobbed some more.

Fabian gently knocked on the door and said "Nina may I talk to you."

"Go away!" She shouted.

"Please. I would like to talk to you" he answered.

Nina didn't say anything and soon enough Fabian walked away from the door heading downstairs.

The next morning Amber, Patricia, and Nina were getting dressed for that day. Today was Saturday, but the students didn't start their first day of collage until Monday.

Today everyone was just gonna relax or if your Amber Millington, go shopping.

Nina was wearing a baby blue crop top with a white undershirt, blue shorts with patches, white converse, and had her hair curled with a braid on each side of her hair.

Patricia was wearing a navy blue blouse that was kinda tight with lighter blue shorts,tan/brown sandals, and she had her hair curled and a piece of hair pinned up.

Amber on the other hand, was wearing a hot pink spaghetti strap, knee length dress, with white wedges and her hair fish tail braided to the side.

They went downstairs and Nina sat in he normal seat, and on the left of her was Amber, Patricia, Eddie, Jerome, and Joy, and to the right of Nina was KT, Willow, Alfie, Fabian, and Mara at the other head of the table.

When Nina walked in Maras face went from "normal" to "flabbergasted".

Nina just sat down like nothing had happened.

"Hey Nina! When did you get here?" Mara quickly asked.

"Yesterday. An hour before all of you did" Nina smiled.

"Oh. well it's nice to have you back" Mara simply said.

Soon enough all of the awkwardness was gone and they made many conversations.

"So Nina. Why didn't you come back last year?" Willow asked.

Nina looked up and gave both Eddie and Fabian a guilty look.

"My gran was very ill and I needed to mend to her" Nina said quietly.

"Oh" Willow said.

"How is your gran?" Joy asked.

Nina's heart stopped. She couldn't tell them the truth because if she did she would cry in front of everyone.

"Um" Nina thought. "sh-she's fine" Nina stuttered.

"Are you okay?" Jerome asked.

"Yeah. Um I better I unpack the rest of my things"Nina said getting up and walking up the her room.

A few minutes later Fabian got up from his chair.

"Where are you going?" Mara asked.

"I'm gonna go check on Nina" he said looking toward the door.

"I'm sure she's fine" Mara said and pulled him arm down motioning for him to sit back down.

But Fabian got out if her grasp and went upstairs anyway.
