Chapter 40

Adidev's POV

I looked over at Meera who was busy arranging  everything  for dinner.

Last few months have been a revelation  for me. I have seen a different Meera altogether. 

Today, she has invited Saahil and Sapna for dinner along with our neighbors , Megha and Abhijeet. 

It was really surprising for me to witness the growing friendship  between Meera and Megha. They have become like two peas in a pod. But the few times I have seen Megha, I felt like she is not my big fan. Maybe she knows about our history.

The bell rang stopping my train of thoughts.

" Hi Adi..." I opened the door to Saahil and Sapna

"Hi Saahil.... Welcome Sapna..."

" Hi Bhabhi" they wished Meera as she came to stand beside me

" Hello Saahil Bhai, Sapna... please have a seat...."

" Didn't Megha and Abhi come?"

We both turned to look at Saahil in surprise

" You speak as if you know them" I asked suspiciously

" No.. how will I know them. You only told me about them" Saahil suddenly got flustered

" I told you about Megha and AbhiJEET, not about any Abhi" I replied  sarcastically

Saahil smiled at me nervously. Before I could question further

"Where is Devu and Anshu?" Sapna interjected

" They have gone to Mom and Dad's . I thought it will be better as they may get bored with all the grownups. There, Anaant and Payal have planned a movie marathon for them " Meera answered

" Hi beautiful people"

We all turned to see Megha and Abhijeet at the door.

I could see Meera's  face break out into a brilliant smile as she went to hug Megha and invite them inside.

" Hi ,  I am Abhijeet, you can call me Abhi"

" Hello... Adi..Adidev" I introduced myself

" Hi Saahil"

I surprisingly  looked at Abhi, " How do you know Saahil"

I saw instantly that all four of them clamped up.

"Megha was non stop talking about this dinner for the past few days and told me about your friend Saahil so I guessed this was him" Abhi chuckled  nervously

I was still looking at them doubtfully

" Adi, why are you standing  there. Come....sit. Consider this your own home" I heard Megha's mischievous  voice.

I saw everyone looking at me with amusement  but what caught my eye was the pure joy in Meera's face. Leaving everything  behind and with a smile of my own, I went over to join them.

After dinner, we were all sitting, talking and goofing around.

" How is the counseling going? " Saahil asked

I looked at Abhi and by his expression, it was confirmed that they also know our problems

" Good..."

" So did you take her outside..."

" What..." I was perplexed by this  question

"Like a date? " he clarified
