The next few weeks dragged on, Alastor wouldn't talk to you. Everytime he realized you were in the look he gave you a pained smile and left. You knew it was because they found out. Alastor wouldn't get drunk at the hotel bar, but he often came back to the hotel late and smelling of strong alcohol.
He refused to even acknowledge you when you spoke to him. It wrenched your heart out.
"What did I do wrong!?" You had yelled at him one night when he brushed past and completely ignored you.
"Nothing." His words were cold and hateful and you wanted to slap him. He clearly didn't want you. You didn't need him either, you could play this same game and be as petty as he could. Just you wait.
"Kid, don't get your hopes up, Al doesn't fall for that shit. He kills for it." Huskers voice came over the bar. "People who play the same games end up dead. I've seen it first hand."
"Oh don't worry" you felt strong. Like you could beat the king of hell himself. "I don't intend to die." You downed the last of your drink.
Husker sighed.
"Well, all I'm gonna say is its not you I'm worried about." You smiled at him,
"You think I'm gonna die?" Your comment took him by surprise.
"Well... it is alastor. A fuckin overlord, and your, you."
"I don't think it ever occurred to you that I haven't even used my power yet"
"If you had any you would be sittin on a throne." He seemed hesitant to tell you something, fighting himself about it.
You sighed. "If its not me your worried about, and you don't seem to think I will be able to survive Alastor, what are you worried about then?"
Husker went quiet.
"I already have one person not speaking to me, do not think I will let another." He grimaced
"Look kid, I like you. Your pretty ok. Sometimes however you seem alot like Al, crazy, a couple of screws loose."
"Cut to the chase." You were never one for patience, and you did feel a little bad for not being able to give husker any.
"Its als secret to share, and I have my own. I'm not like Angel or Charlie, I like to keep my secrets safe. And what I am worried about, thats none of ya business." He leaned over the bar.
"Your afraid of something." You said
"What?" He looked taken aback. "I ain't scared of shit."
"Look, I know when to leave well enough alone. But I see the looks on your face, if you have the power to do something about it, do it. Or else you'll regret it."
He chuckled.
"Normally I'm the one givin ya advice. Not the other way around" he had his walls up but you could tell, you knew something in him was contemplating what you had said.
"Alright. I will" he said after a while, "just don't get your hopes up."
"Not about that dumbass, everyone can tell." To be honest, you knew it wasn't about alastor, but you didn't know what it actually was.
Husker looked surprised. "E- everyone?"
You nodded.
"Everyone"
The next morning you saw husker standing nervously at the barkeep. He was wearing a little more than usual, you had noticed and you immediatly realized what it was.
Alastor ignored you again, but you didn't pay him any mind. You were too busy watching, waiting, to see if husker would follow through.
"Oh husky daddy~" angels voice echoed, husker immediatly went to habit and pretended to be disgusted. Angel practically danced in and got real close to husker.
"You look lovely toots, mind making me somethin sweet?"
Alastor was looking at you, but you busied yourself in looking conspicuous so that you could watch the scene unfold.
Husker brought out a drink that was pink and fizzy,
"Thank ya husker darling" but before angel could grab it husker took a swig
"Aye! Where's my drink!?" Husker grinned and pulled angel close, clearly enjoying him turning red and going all flustered.
"H- husker?" All husker did was chuckle and brought angel even closer, to the point where their lips nearly met. In the moment where they kissed Alastor stood infront of you, smiling psychoticly.
You slouched back into the chair feigning calmness.
"You know its rude to interrupt someone when they're busy." You said haughtilly.
"Oh darling please, we both know perfectly well you weren't. Now, I need to talk to you. In private."
"Oh so now you want to talk? What a coincidence, cause I don't."
You did, you wanted to talk, and scream and ask what the hell he was thinking.
He growled. "Why must you be so difficult?"
"I don't know, why must you be so arrogant?" You shot back.
"Very well..." he said, when your ready to talk, meet me upstairs in room 288. And then, he left.
Angel was a fluttering mess that had melted into the table and husker looked rather pleased with himself. You supposed you could go see Alastor.
