Chapter 04: Best Buddies

HEZEKIAH IAN's POV

My parents already left not too long after Alexis had left a while ago as if Alexis' is their son. I couldn't help but sighed once again and just like last night, I'm left here all alone once again. Well, I usually feel happy when I'm alone since that's the only time I could think properly without anyone's opinion and be myself but right now... For some reason, I couldn't understand why I suddenly felt lonely...

*bzzzzt bzzzzt*

I was back to my senses when I suddenly heard my phone vibrate on the table right beside my hospital bed. Eh? Was it Nu? I immediately grabbed it and answered it as I was hoping that I could talk to him right now but...

[Hey, what's up?] I heard this very familiar voice on the other line.

"Thankfully I'm still alive." I said as I heaved a deep sigh. So it wasn't Nu...

[Hey, did you just sigh, Zee?] I heard Davian ask and I have a huge hunch that he's furrowing his brows right now while talking to me. Hahaha!

"No, I'm not. So why did you call?" I said but to be honest... Well, it's not like I was waiting for Nu's call but... I only thought that it was him.

[...] I was back to my senses when I realized that Davian suddenly stayed silent which is unusual.

"Hello? Are you still there, Davian?" I asked though I'm sure he is since I could still hear some music on the other line.

[I am but as I think thoroughly, I think I already know why you suddenly sighed as soon as you heard my voice...] I heard Davian said which confused me. Huh?

[Was it because you were waiting for someone's call?] I heard Davian said which made me shake my head.

"I am not." I said though I'm starting to doubt my answer as well because I wouldn't assume that it was Nu if I wasn't expecting him to call me, right?

[Well, I don't trust the 'I am not' answer of yours, buddy. You can't deceive me, bro.] I heard Davian said which made me just smile as I shook my head while sitting slowly on my hospital bed. Okay, fine. Of course, you know me better than anyone else because aside from you being my best friend, you are also a distant cousin of mine.

"How about you, Davian? I heard from a very reliable source that you dropped off your beloved friend at Nu's house this morning. Is it true?" I asked as I tried to change the topic which I successfully did. Thanks to Alexius who accidentally told us about that a while ago. Hahaha!

[W-who told you that?] Davian suddenly answered which made me arched my brow. Oh, wait. So, is it true?

"So it's true since you just startled just now." I said which made Davian startled on the other line. Hahaha!

[I-it's not! And also, why are you asking me about this when I should be the one to ask you about what happened last night?] Davian said as he obviously changed the topic. Oh, well. I won't easily let you go about this, Davian.
