Chapter 64: Forgotten World(4)

Start from the beginning

"Bahara, why did you fail to get the princess back? You're calling yourself the Priestess Warrior Guardian after your failure?"

Said by a red-furred ogre, the chieftain of the central region of Grameus, one amongst the largest of all, was tasked to monitor and avoid confrontation with the Esperanto at the same time as being the pillar of defense if ever the Esperanto tried to expand up north. Dugma scorned Bahara, but unbeknownst to him, Bahara was nothing but a controlled husk of Annonrial.

"Chieftain Dugma, are you opposing the priestess's recognition of me as her warrior guardian? Don't ever overstep your line."

"Tsk." Dugma clicked his tongue as he didn't retort Bahara's response because none of them, even him, had the authority to twist the royal decree of the princess herself.

"The demon gods gave an oracle to save the princess from those gentiles of South and annihilate them," Bahara's continued his uninterrupted quest to reel the demons to play on the palms of Annonrial. "Or else...."

"Or else what?." One of the chieftains asked as much as their curiosity allowed.

"Face divine retribution." Ended by Bahara, it is short but it sends shivers down the spines of demons as they are a superstitious race that even considers some marvels of science sacred, supernatural, or a curse.

"Nonsense!." However, Dugma refuted; he stood up and garnered the attention of pretty much all of the people, as he thinks internally that only priestesses could communicate with supernatural beings, so for himself, Bahara's talk was nonsensical. "You must be making excuses because you failed to retrieve the princess!."

"Dugma, you must know about the attack yesterday!."

"Isn't it possible as elaborate sabotage!."

Dugma didn't flinch as he continued to oppose Bahara; despite the information about the unknown attacks, the majority in Asmodeus is still skeptical of the event, unlike in the civilized and decent uncivilized nations in the New World with Mana comms as a means of rapid information transfer medium, the Heiskanen were basically still at the age of foot or air messengers, thus the information about the current situation reached very slowly into the far flung region of the country, it was the current situation of argument until Bahara lost his temper and he said, "You talk too much; that's why you'll get divine wrath here!."

"Huh?! You hoax--!." As Dugma was about to charge Bahara by his provocation, he stopped on his feet and noticed blood leaks on his mouth, dripping then followed by an intense pain on the chest, where a hole able to fit a pingpong ball was there, and he couldn't believe what he saw; it punctured his heart, boring through his important internal organ before he could make sense of what happened, his vision gone dark, and collapsed on the front of hundreds of chieftains, visibly terrified them.

"You see this! This is divine retribution!." Taking the lead, Bahara loudly proclaimed, much to the horror of the chieftains, as they thought divine retribution was genuine, and Bahara indeed received an oracle from a deity. "We must extinguish the Southern gentiles and save the princess from their clutches before the full moon." He continues, further driving the chieftains to support these basically war efforts, which they must complete in roughly 9 days from now.

"However warrior guardian! We can't amass enough men to fight! And we're even able to destroy the walls?." One of them anxiously asked; the Esperanto was simply too enormous and powerful to be fought with meager strength, and they already knew that a small contingent will fall in a matter of hours, and the stigma of unparalleled power and coordination of Esperanto knights was wholly engraved on them as very dangerous.

"Fret not," Bahara smiles and paused for a moment. "With gods will! Those fragile walls will fall before the trumpet of destruction!."

The chieftains were energized by the shout of Bahara, despite the herculean task and almost impossible endeavor, but for their princess and to avoid the fate of taking the wrath of gods, they must do whatever they can to achieve it.
