Issue #1: 「 When Their Eyes First Connected 」

Start from the beginning

Her mind practically fade away as her body turned on autopilot, absentmindedly observing the doctor's back and where he took directions.

'(Just another day...)' She mentally thought, still grimacing at the fact that this was her life now. Back then, she couldn't even give a damn about homework or what kind of food she'll be eating. It WAS a normal life. A Normal childhood.

But now, her thinking of what 'normal' really is had became blurry, in no short thanks to the security.

...Just what IS normal nowadays?

She had been in this place for so long, it started to rot her mental state little-by-little. It was tiring.

For once, she would love a sense of normalcy be brought back to her, even if it was trivial in retrospect. Alas, this was nothing more than—

She felt a shoulder bump against hers. The sudden jolt of physical action caused her to snap out of her neverending thoughts and jerk back, though the reaction looked like she slightly overreacted.

"Whoops, sorry about that. Are you okay?" Iris heard someone say. She couldn't put her finger on it, but that voice sounded...off... Like given that the staff members of the foundation she had met so far has the same robotic sounding voice, she was surprised that this voice felt more...caring.

Iris looked at her side and was shock to met a...regular looking person. The guy right besides her held no abstract features. No horns coming out of the head. No pure red eyes. No sharp elongated teeth. Just...a regular person.

Iris longingly stared. It wasn't as though she hasn't seen any human beings, she had met a few doctors and D-Class personnels in fact, but the most notable features the person in front of her had was...he looked someone around her age.

"Uhh... something wrong with my face?" The boy genuinely asked, growing anxious from the longing stare he was receiving from a girl.

Iris owlishly blinked. And then blinked again. Before realizing that she might have been looking for an unnecessary amount of time. And only then, in a very long time, Iris grew flustered.

"S-Sorry. I was just... surprise–" Iris gave her reason but was unable to complete it as One of the guards lightly shove her forward.

"Get movin! You're falling behind!" The soldier strongly demanded, earning a scoff and a mental sneer from 105. She peeked at the boy again and noticed that he didn't took kindly of the guard's attitude.

"Hey! What's the matter with you!? Can't you just be a little bit patient?" The guard glared at the boy with ire, reacting negatively about the backtalk.

"We have business..." The guard squinted his eyes and focused on the boy's number tag. "...4051, we don't have time for chitchat."

The guard yet again glared at the boy, who was now called '4051'. A flicker of surprise lit up on her face. That perked 105's attention. If he's being called by item number did that meant—

'(So... he's also a Human Anomaly? Kinda like...me?)' Iris was further fascinated by him.

The boy in question put on a brave face when facing the gruff looking soldier, though it did slightly falter under the weight of the really scary glower the guard was sending him.

Props for effort, at least.

"H-Hey now!" The doctor from before just now decided to step in. "Don't start anything, it's quite alright. Though, I do have to admit, I AM in a bit of a time crunch."
