Liminal Creature

Not in, nor out, this cryptic travesty,
In chronic cloud its features criminal,
Reveals its mur'drous triptych panoply--
The black aquarium of the creature liminal.

Teacher subliminal, wrought in bestial art,
No faith in faithless adventitious pledge
Will rise from those with fraught and specious hearts;
Instead is thrust a superstitious wedge.

Pernicious edge, with prudence you're approached,
Yet sapient most are those with craven mien;
Half-human playmates scorn the sure reproach.
And mercenary souls make maven fiends.

Not true, nor false, in neverending dawn
And dusk remains the half-formed halfway's pawn.
