The rest of the morning was spent making tiktoks, eating, playing FIFA, and soaking up every last second we had together. Eventually, the ring of the door signalized that our time was coming up to an end. At this point, I had changed and into some clothes ready for the long drive, and everything I had owned (and that Daisy and her family had kindly gifted me) was packed up in a backpack. We both made our way downstairs and followed the voices into the hallway. I hugged Rachel to say hello, as well as hugging Daisy's mum and exchanging a few words to express my thanks for everything she had done for me without blubbering like a baby. Attempting to make the hardest goodbye quick, I turned back around and faced my best friend. I rushed into her arms as I felt the first few tears escape my eyes.
"I love you dais"
"I love you too. speak everyday"
"everyday no matter what"
"lil I am always here, forever"
"I know"
"just a phone call away"
"just a phone call away" I said accompanied by a deep sigh as I let go of her.
I said my final goodbyes to them and before I could get to the point of not having any tears left, me and Rachel got in her car to start the journey. It felt bittersweet, goodbyes always are. I was going to miss her but knew this was the right thing for me to do. After all, I was now with my mum.
"Kiddo, you okay? I know that must of been hard"
"yeah damn right it was hard, but I mean we are together again so what do you say, ready for the adventure?"
"baby girl I will always be ready for anything with you"
