This is a short story that I've never written before. The usual romcom UB formula is that girl and guy meet, girl becomes the best friend and eventually catches feelings for the guy but due to endless amount of reasons they can't be together and is denial. For the longest time possible.
When those feelings come out, she always feels alone in the one shifting the dynamic. Cause all the hard decisions and thinking is all on her and all the guy ever does is sprout all the nice things said and done taking no responsibility of where they're headed.
I'm a big Dance Academy fan and have always been inspired by the friendship between Tara and Ben. In the scene where they're creating the Persephone and Hades dance, Tara talks about, "What if it's more equal? We ditch the creepy kidnapping element, turn the story on its head, they're two people - Hades and his world aren't what she thought she wanted. She thinks loving him will hold her back."
This story takes that POV and for the first time the leading guy has arrived, about time!
