Chapter 26 | relapse

Start from the beginning

The farmer grins to herself, avoiding eye contact as she looks around.

"Missing a hundred." Robin declares with a knowing smile and Y/n caves, nudging the hundred onto the table with a finger.

"You know me so well."

"Of course I do, sweetheart." She smiles, collecting the last of the cash.

Robin is serious when it comes to business, but she's still light-hearted as usual. She pulls some papers out, needing Y/n to sign a couple of things which she does swiftly.

"You're going through these quite fast. Rushing somewhere?" Robin raises a brow, holding a page up so Y/n had no trouble writing.

"Your son's room." She says in return, with a blank face nonetheless. "Ohhhh... eager are we?" Robin teases but Y/n replies with a hum in agreement. She wasn't expecting the confidence. She quite liked seeing her so red whenever she mentioned Sebastian.

"I haven't spoken to anybody in twenty-four hours, I miss the guy."

Robin can't really say she's surprised. They've grown close once again, almost like they never parted when they were kids. But still, the thought of someone caring so much for Sebastian this way had an effect on her heart, causing it to melt into a pool of liquid.

"I'm glad you came back to Pelican town, Y/n." She says, her voice genuine and soft.

Y/n finishes signing the papers and hands them in, ignoring the way she could feel her eyes water a bit. Man did it hit her hard to have some kind of parental validation in her life when the last time she got it was when she was pre-pubescent.

She sort of feels like her day was just a little bit better thanks to Robin. Secretly she's grateful she came back to Pelican town too.

"Well then!" Robin exclaims with a heavy sigh, stretching her arms.

"I'll be on it after the luau!" She smiles gleefully. Y/n snickers, clearing her throat as she feels a little tickle and she thanks Robin one more time before making her way to Sebastian's, descending into his lair.

Y/n exhales, preparing to see Sebastian after a short while. Though it hasn't been too long, she's felt she has to put on an act that everything was all good. It can't be too hard when her little interaction with Robin made her feel a little bit better. So truthfully, things were in fact alright. Some worries in the back of her head merely nagged at her when she woke that she was going through another episode after such hard work with her mental health.

She brushes it away, trying to convince herself that she won't fall back to where she was in the beginning.

Knocking on Sebastian's door, Y/n waits for a response but was given nothing.

She knocks one more time to catch his attention but he scowls from inside, his voice sounding irritated. "I'm busy." Y/n is slightly taken aback. But by the way his voice seemed quite raspy and deeper than usual, he'd probably just woken up. He wasn't busy whatsoever.

Huffing, Y/n smirks.

"Whatever you say, Bastian, I'll get going then!"

Y/n hears a thud from inside, most likely Sebastian falling out of his bed. Then a frazzled set of footsteps rush to the door, the doorknob rattling. He groans, forgetting he locked it previously and then he unlocks it, swinging it open.

"Y/n!" He says, bedhead and pyjamas. She smiles at him, welcoming herself inside and making herself at home as she sits on his bed.

"I didn't see you at all yesterday." He hums, shutting his door. He saunters over, planting himself on his cleared coffee table in front of Y/n.
