"thank you, thank you so much," charles grinned and pressed his lips on hers.

they parted and juliet leaned into his side. she rubbed his back, softly asking, "do you wanna go now?" in reference to jules' corner.

charles simply nodded and wrapped his arm around the girl as they ducked under the fence and stepped onto the track, following the painted lines on the asphalt.

"what'd you do today?" juliet asked, realizing that on tv the track looks much smaller than it is to walk it.

"nothing much, my mum and lorenzo are coming tomorrow. so i will get to see them and arthur then," he explained.

"that'll be very nice," she smiled, glancing at him before looking back ahead.

"i can't wait to properly introduce you to them. y'know, not just as my friend's sister," charles said after a pause, hesitant to even ask.

"you want to do that?" juliet breathed out, the reddest blush filling out her face.

"yeah," he replied, kissing the top of her head.

they had a few feet left and they had finally caught site of the small memorial that was left on the track's barriers. juliet stood up and pulled herself away from charles' embrace, instead grabbing onto his hand and holding it by her side.

"it's grown a lot since i was last here," he mumbled, looking at the memorial. "i'm glad people have brought stuff for him."

"yeah..." juliet smiled softly, "do you want to go over on your own?"

"mhmm...just for a second," he replied, letting go of her hand as she nodded graciously and he walked up to the site.

"bonjour jules," charles mumbled as he stood in front of the bundles of flowers on the barrier. "j'ai 22 ans aujourd'hui." (i'm 22 years old today).

"donc c'est ce que je fais le jour de mon anniversaire," (so this is what i'm doing on my birthday) he explained, "ma copine m'a supris et m'a amené ici pour te voir et faire du karting." (my girlfriend surprised me and brought me here to see you and go karting)

"c'est la sœur de pierre, juliet. celle dont je t'ai toujours parlé. je l'ai finalement eue." (she's pierre's sister, juliet. the one i always talked to you about. i finally got her.)

"je vais l'amener ici maintenant," (i'm gonna bring her over here now) he finished, looking over at juliet and nodding at her to walk over.

"i haven't been here in a while. thank you," he said as she approached him. "he would've loved you. i just know it."

juliet stayed silent, looking up at a solemn charles as he just stared at the flowers. she knew how much he loved jules and how he devoted his f1 career to making it to ferrari because of him. and now he had achieved it.

she had seen it in his eyes everytime he got in that red car; he just loved everything about being a ferrari driver. even if the team screwed up, or he crashed, he believed in himself and understood that he was in the best position ever. a position that he needed to achieve for jules.

juliet would've loved to have seen charles' face when ferrari told him they'd be signing him. she was sure he was ecstatic, and he probably visited jules' grave and told him everything.

they stayed silent for a few seconds, both of them just staring. "bonjour jules," juliet broke the silence, feeling charles tilt his head down to look at her, "i'm juliet. and i think i might love your godson."

"quale?" charles slowly reacted in italian, pulling his body back to look at his girl. "you love me?"

"yes, charles," juliet sighed, almost sarcastically. as if he hadn't known this entire time. "for forever, it feels like."

a massive grin grew onto the boy's face as he brought his hands to her cheeks. "good thing i love you back, we wouldn't want this to be a one sided thing," he smirked sarcastically.

"no we wouldn't," juliet added, and charles was quick to shut her up from talking more. his lips pressed to hers and they were both filled with bliss. they love each other.

"okay," juliet pulled away, "time for me to kick your ass in a race!" she exclaimed and chuckled, running away quickly to go get set up. charles watched her run off and a smile stayed plastered on his face; she was his.

charles caught up to juliet, who was standing beside the karts with two helmets in her hands. "i need help charles," she held out the pink one. he grabbed it from her hand and helped her put it on her head. he clipped the straps on the bottom and lifted up the visor.

"you look adorable in this thing," he kissed the bridge of her nose through the visor, stepping back. he pulled his phone out of his pocket and held it up, juliet instinctively posing nicely as he took a photo of her.

"okay, put yours on," she told him, walking over to her kart. charles quickly slipped his helmet on, and then helped juliet into her kart.

she buckled her seat belt and charles got into his kart, buckling himself up. juliet looked to her side and saw him ready to go.

"ready?" she shouted, making sure she'd get his attention. he turned to look at her, shouting back a "yes!"

"ready to lose?" charles quipped loudly, mocking the girl.

"i beat pierre all the time!"

"ready...3, 2, 1, go!" juliet counted down, both karts taking off as she said go.

the couple raced around the track, both giddy as they overtook one another. juliet flipped charles off everytime she went passed him, making the boy laugh and try to beat her back.

they raced fifteen or so laps, juliet inching closer and closer to charles as they started the final lap. juliet's legs killed from pressing the pedals; she had no idea how he did this for a living. charles waved out that this was the last corner, and the gasly girl slammed the gas pedal, finally passing her boyfriend for good and crossing the start line.

she quickly stopped the kart and jumped out, jumping up for joy that she'd beaten charles. "see, i told you i'm insane at karting!" she said sarcastically and ran to him.

"great job," he hugged her, ripping the helmet off his head.

"i was gonna let you win because it's your birthday and all, but i told you i loved you and i think that's a good enough gift," juliet smiled and fixed her hair after taking off her helmet.

"yeah, that is the best gift."
