Forgive Me

Chapter 1

Tension is running high as we all get organised for Kyle and Caseys big day, finally they are getting married and their wedding is only three days away
Its been a long time coming as they wanted to wait until Elijah was a bit older and able to stay with someone through the honeymoon and now that he is 1 so can stay away for a bit longer
That seems crazy to think that its been 12 whole months since the love of my life walked out the door
Twelve whole months since I have seen him, at least in person
I have seen plenty of news articles bragging about his new lovers
I just hope that he has found someone that can make him happy, as angry at him as I am I'm still madly in love with him and all I want is for him to be happy even if that doesn't include me
I was currently in town heading to the local cattle sale, I had destocked my new property and now that the cattle market had dropped I was after some cheap ones to fatten again
Plus I was avoiding wedding duties for the day so this gives me a good excuse
I pulled my truck into the saleyards and parked before heading in and getting a coffee from the canteen, I was a little bit early so I drank my coffee before finding a seat
I had been sitting down for about 10 minutes when someone sat down beside me but I didn't even bother to look at who it was
"I had this great night with a hot blonde only to wake up this morning and she was gone" The person said
Hearing his voice snapped me out of my daydream and I couldn't help but giggle as I turn't towards Sam
"Thought you would know by now that blondes are trouble?" I said
"But this one is worth it" Sam replied
He moved in closer to me and put his arm around me before he leant in a we shared a quick kiss
For anyone that may be wondering Sam and I are together now and have been for a couple of months
I think we are really only rebounds for each other given we both needed to heal from heartbreak, definitely feelings there but nothing like what we feel for Kate and Harry
"You left pretty early this morning" Sam said
"Needed to go for a drive and clear my head a bit" I replied
"I'm here for you babe, remember that"
I reached over and grabbed his hand leaning my head on his shoulder
"I know and I couldn't possibly thank you enough for what you have done for me" I said
"I care about you Jess, I couldn't stand back and watch you continue to ruin what you had" Sam replied
Incase you want some back story I completely lost it after Harry left, I was always drinking and turn't in to a whore sleeping with many different guys
That continued for months before Sam stepped in and got me to wake up to myself and I have been back on the right path ever since
It wasn't long before the sale had started and I focused on the sale so I didn't miss a bargain
The day went by pretty quickly and I ended up buying 115 new calves, they where all weaners but looked to have done it a bit tough so needed some good feed put into them
Sam was here with his truck as well so it saved me doing extra trips, we loaded up and headed to my grower property
It was only about 10 minutes down the road from my house property and was 1130 acres so plenty of room for fattening stock
We dropped the calves in the yards on the property and I let them out into the holding paddock checking the troughs for water
"Thank you" I said to Sam
"Your welcome, it was good to have a break from the wedding stuff" Sam answered
"Ain't that the truth, I love them but it will be such a relief for it all to be over"
"Not long to go now, I can't wait for either of us to get married so they understand what its all like"
"If only we had our shit together"
"It will all work out in the end"
"I hope so, let's head back"
I gave Sam a quick kiss and walked back to my truck before getting in and heading back home
I had done all my jobs and just finished dinner when my phone dinged

Sam: I've picked up some transport jobs sorry babe I will be late home xx
Me: no rush babe, dinner will be in the fridge xx

I quickly typed out and sent my response before heading to bed because I was exhausted
It didn't take me long to fall asleep which I was thankful for

Sam's POV
I didn't get home until about 10pm and all the lights where off so I knew that Jess was in bed
Some nights she didn't sleep well so it wasn't uncommon for her to be tired and go to bed early, it had improved greatly but still happened regularly
She was an absolute shattered mess when Harry left, she stopped eating properly and resorted to drinking and sleeping with random guys which was very out of character for her
I had to step in and do something before she completely lost it
It started off with our old arrangement of friends with benefits and then became a relationship with the agreement that if Harry or Kate come running we would let each other go
I heated up dinner and ate before heading off to bed
I stripped out of my jeans and shirt before climbing in to bed pulling Jess into my arms kissing her temple lightly
She stired lightly before mumbling something in her sleep
"I love you Haz" she mumbled settling into my arms
My heart broke for her, it was a regular occurrence for her to mumble things like that in her sleep
I hate Harry for breaking her the way he did, she finally got the love of her life only to have him throw her aside with no explanation
