(You did also notice that your usual editing files were in place, meaning you were probably back to your previous profession.)
There you were. Born 1979, died in 2007, from suicide by drug overdosage, according to wikipedia.
Seeing it in black and white text made the full extent of the situation fully dawn on you. Slowly, you clicked on the link, and read through your biography, staring in complete shock; there were little sections dedicated to your albums, to your concerts and tours, to your early life.
Then, the section on your death.
[...] had shown signs of depression during the early stages of their fame, and it is suspected that the Projekt Revolution tour they embarked on, alongside several bands such as My Chemical Romance, Linkin Park, Mindless Self Indulgence, etc., had a detrimental effect on their mental health. The last sighting of them was at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport; it was later confirmed that they boarded a flight back to their hometown of Watertown, in South Dakota.
The clinical approach to your demise hadn't been something you'd expected, but it made it worse.
[...] they were found in their apartment, the next morning, at five am, by their manager, Harvey Pullman, who'd flown after them. The police were not called for five hours, since Pullman was so distraught that he couldn't bring himself to remove himself from their body. An autopsy of the body revealed that they had overdosed on Ibuprofen. (L/n) left no suicide note.
The coroner confirmed that it was likely that they had been listening to their CD player, which was playing the studio album His 'n' Hers by Pulp, before they committed, since they were found with their headphones on.
Projekt Revolution was cancelled following their death, and all tickets were refunded. Each band made a statement on the death, with lead singer of Linkin Park Chester Bennington saying that (L/n) had "[...] provided an infectious, fun but wise energy to the tour. I feel awful, we all feel awful, that we couldn't have done something to help".
Harvey Pullman also issued a statement, that he felt "entirely responsible" for (L/n)'s suicide. Since their death, Pullman was suspected to be struggling with depression and guilt, dropping out of the music industry, before he died of heart failure only three years later in 2010.
More famously, Gerard Way, lead singer of My Chemical Romance, gave an very emotional interview, on MTV network, two weeks after (L/n)'s death. Way referred to them as "[...] the most special person I've ever met", and confessed to feeling "intense self-hatred", as he felt he could've prevented their suicide had he been more perceptive.
Way added, "I don't think I'll ever be able to move on from this. Honestly, I hope this grief stays with me forever, I'd hate myself even more if I ever forgot. I wish they were still here. I want that more than anything in the world."
Way continues to be vocal about their suicide in the present...
You couldn't read anymore. Instead, you shut your laptop, and buried your face in your hands, an awful sick feeling in your stomach. Harvey was dead. Gerard had clearly been scarred by the whole situation, and from what you were getting from the article, he hadn't gotten over your death. Chester had been upset by the ordeal as well, and you could only imagine his reaction, after you'd promised him not to ever kill himself.
Going back to the future had just caused even more problems than you'd thought — you'd thought everything would fix itself. But it hadn't, arguably, it had made everything worse.
You leaned back in your chair, and rubbed your head, in astonished silence. Then you let out a sarcastic laugh, and asked nobody in particular, "I fucked up, didn't I?"
