Startled out of his mind, Taehyung woke up feeling restless despite getting adequate hours of sleep. In his mind were the waves of the uncanny dreams crashing mercilessly at the shores of his crumbling sanity. He didn't know how to differentiate between reality and imagination anymore. It wasn't like he witnessed something similar to the dream in the day that caused this to appear, it was completely unannounced.

Grabbing onto the headstand for support, he ambled towards the kitchen in hopes of finding the same scene he sees every morning but much to his disappointment, the kitchen was empty and free of any kind of racket. It was almost like when he used to live alone before.

Feeling a bit down now, he opened the fridge door only to be met with a giant pot sitting in the cold. Curiosity arose in his mind as his fingers clamped on the handles and placed it on the table. The freezing temperature clogged up the view of the content inside. Fumes of cool breeze brushed past his skin as he took the lid off.

Guilt immediately surged through him as he saw what was inside. He was touched yet sorry at the same time and he didn't knew which emotion outweighed the other.

To say, he remembered her saying something about dinner but he was quick to refuse it before even taking a look at it. She would have spent so much time and effort to make his favoured dish yet he had turned it down. He had been behaving terrible for someone who was taking the initiative to care for him.

But for now, he was sure that a certain person definitely crawled up a place of respect in his heart.

Groaning slightly, Younggeum cracked open her eyelids. The horrifying sunlight instantly pierced her eyeballs but what was more terrifying was the time. The sun was awfully more lit up today and Younggeum cautiously clicked open her watch to see whether her assumption was right or not.

And indeed, she was correct.

"Mister Kim will be late! God, why didn't I wake up earlie-" She stopped in her tracks to find the whole house desolate. Beams of unfiltered orange sunlight escaped past the open window and landed on the couches in the living room that allowed her too see dust particles wafting about.

Her feet set their destination to Taehyung's room first but to her dismay, she found no one there as well. Feeling the same sense of dread and sorrow seeping in from yesterday, Younggeum trudged to the kitchen and poured herself a glass of water. It seemed like Taehyung had left for work already.

As she was about to take a sip, her gaze fell onto a tiny paper stuck on the fridge that was fluttering with the wind. She picked it up and her eyes skimmed over the letters and she ended up rereading it because she wasn't paying attention the first time, or it was just too unbelievable.

Thank you for the meal. I'm sorry I couldn't have it yesterday.

P.S It was really tasty!

-Taehyung

Unconsciously, her lips curled up into a smile and she swore her day had just got even better.
