Jordan woke up laying in soft, unfamiliar sand. His head was still spinning from the hard wave that had hit his boat. Had he washed up on an island? Someone was standing over him, silently. Partly undead, with completely black eyes. They almost seemed like a zombie.

"Aye, you good, mate?" The person spoke, and Jordan was almost compelled to reply. Almost. If their voice had been a little softer. Instead, he just nodded. The stranger rolled their eyes, offering him a hand.

"Not talkative, are you? Doesn't matter. I'm Tom, welcome to the realm of Mianite!"

A communicator attached to Tom's belt started blaring after he finished his sentence.

"Ah, hang on for a minute; newbie-" he pressed the button on the communicator- "WHAT DO YOU WANT, TUCKER?"

Tom paused to let the other speak. He replied.

"Yeah, the presence Sonja sensed was a dude. So?"

Tom rolled his eyes, pausing his speech.

"No, obviously, he doesn't have a faction yet...... I have first dibs, asshole! ...... All you mianite followers think you're all that... Duh, of course, I'm bringin' him over."

With that, Tom hung up on whoever he was talking with.

Jordan finally spoke, Holding a hand out in front of himself, palm facing his new acquaintance.

"Wait, hang on. Faction? Mianite? where am I?"

Tom smirked, "I just said, you're in the realm of mianite! These are the isles. And the factions will be explained soon, once we're in the main civilization."

Tom grabbed Jordan's hand, asking, "So, what's your name?"

"Captian Jordan Sparklez."

"Oooh, a big man with a title!" !"

Jordan laughed, attempting to make eye contact with his new acquaintance as they walked, saying, "So, I can't help but notice you're all kitted out?"

Tom nodded, unsheathing a large, sparkling teal sword that shone like stars in the moonlight.

"Oh, this little thing? Yeah, I got it from Lord Dianite. He's real nice when he gets what he wants. This sword was a reward for a prank I pulled on the Mianite temple."

Jordan tilted his head, "Which was?"

"Changed it from quartz to diorite," Tom laughed, "Oh, it was simple but glorious! A once-pristine chapel, destroyed and replaced by yours truly. Tucker was mad! You should've seen his face!!"

Jordan smiled. It was nice to hear someone so passionate about something, even if that something was a sinister prank.

"So," Jordan continued, "Who exactly are Mianite and Dianite? Are they, like, kings?"

"Are they like kings," Tom scoffed, "They're more than kings, Jordan! They're gods, rulers of order and chaos! Dianite, the lord of chaos and bound to the Nether, patron god of all nether-beasts! And Mianite, the king of the gods and ruler of the overworld! His domain is over order, light, hope, rebuilding, protection, and stability!"

Jordan nodded, mind dancing with questions he decided to keep to himself. One, though, would not let him be.

"Is there no one to keep the peace? No balance between the two?"

Tom twirled a hand in the air, "Nope! Thats why Dianite is locked up in the nether, because Mianite won a huge war and sent him down there. His powers are slowly returning, though, and soon he'll have enough energy to return to the world to get revenge!"
