"But we have to repair it! It's our jobs to do maintenance on every barrier in this academy and that includes the Grand Aegis System. How are we going to show our faces with pride if we can't fix the darn thing?!"

"But what are we gonna do? It's just gonna shatter again like last time. I call it lucky that it even lasted three days with just some flex taping."

"We could always ask Rimuru-sama for help."

"Denied. It would be foolish to waste our king's time on such matters that we should be handling ourselves. Besides, I've already reported this issue to our supervisors. I'm sure they will figure something out."

"And how long will it take for them to assign a repair specialist?"

"I don't know, do I look like I do the paperwork?"

Having enough of this info dump on me, I came forward and grabbed their attention with a cough while hiding my ulterior motives.

"Ahem..." I then said. "Gentlemen, this humble one couldn't help but overhear your plight and wish to be of helpful service, may I know more what's causing you so much distress?"

"Hmm? Oh, no thanks, sir. We're doing fine here really. Just another day in the office."

"I see. However, forgive my rudeness, but I seemed to have heard you mentioning fixing a very complex Barrier Field. As a scholar and enthusiast of the study of Barriers myself, I would like to inquire what barrier you're referring to."

"Oh no, it's fine to ask. The thing we're working right now is the main barrier field that envelops the entire academy as a protection barrier."

"Oh, is this the kind of barrier that shields buildings from external damage?"

I ask knowing that such barriers were installed on all buildings I've come across and not only does it absorb physical damage, but it also protects from fire damage, wear and tear from weather conditions and the deterioration from time. But such features were basic to me really.

"Well if you're talking about those kinds of barriers then yes it is something like that, but the main effects of the Grand Aegis System is to damage opposing forces, arrest hostile activists and beguile infiltrating spies from reaching the center of the academy. There's also the other features like DEFCON Mode but I don't really know what it's all about."

"I see. How interesting. Hey, I'm Something of a Barrier expert myself, if you don't mind, how about I fix this Grand Aegis System for you?"

"Really, you would do that?"

"Yeah, free of charge. Get your money back guaranteed."

"That's great then!" the orc said happily. "Let me grab the blueprints for you to look."

"Oi, is this really fine? We're not suppose to tell this to any non-personnel remember? The Schematics for the Grand Aegis System is a STATE SECRET!"

"It's fine, Lake 1D." the orc look back and reassures him. Unbeknownst to him and the rest of the group, the orcs eyes had a dull blue glow.

"Yeah, it's totally fine to show me the blueprints. Right... Lake 1D???"

"Uhm... Well, yes. I guess it's fine." he said with dull blue glow in his Orcish eyes.

Then his friend passes me the blueprints for the Grand Aegis System and took a seeping look. Immediately I was baffled for a bit before I understood what was looking at and fell into confusion.

I couldn't help but ask.

"So is your name really Lake 1D?"

"Yes, it's the proud name bestowed to me by the great demon lord Rimuru-sama to cure my endless hunger." said the orc with pride in his eyes.
