A single buzz from his phone snapped Jeno back into reality. He looked at the screen, there was one message from Jisung.

"Hyung, can I get some more of those bandages you got me last time?"

He moved to swipe it when another message came in.

"And you might wanna come back soon too. We got a job to do. And they want all three of us."

"I can't believe you tricked me

"I can't believe you tricked me."

Femi had lied to you about the three vampires eating your favorite ramyeon. In fact, the moment you came out of your house you already had an unsettling feeling in your stomach, but this was Femi, your spirit animal, she wouldn't have lied to you.

But she did.

And now, here you are standing in front of the entrance of a early year witch festival in town hall.

Usually witches were unwelcomed, save from being found in shifty stores inbetween alleys, but usually around this time of the year, festivals were a common thing, and the Oracles would give a bit more space for any supernaturals to do some business here and there, though that only meant they had Hunters near by too. Disguised as all the rest, simply lying in wait for anyone to slip up and make a mess.

You haven't been to these festivals for almost a year now. And for good reasons too.

"What if they find me here and drag me back to the cellar? Didn't that thought cross your mind at all?"

Femi laughed at you, and your heart shrank a bit from it. The bustling sound of footsteps and small chatter made you fidget, and vulnerable. It seemed like the festival had just only began, but people were already coming in and you just had to fight the urge to spin your head to catch every face that comes, in case you knew one of them.

"No one can even remember you." Femi said, tail flickering side to side. She was perched ontop of the festival's signboard, her coat glistening underneath the clear sun. The words: "Merry Goal Festival" written in a gold and cursive font.

It didn't make you feel festive at all.

"Femi, any sort of magic has it's flaws—"

"All you talk about is flaws and what if's." Femi cut you off, decisively, as she fell to the ground with a graceful leap. She sounded so casual, so careless. It sent a shiver down your spine.

"At your age with your skills, you could make head of the coven and put even those measly vampirs to shame."

You sighed, head actually aching as you tried your best to reign in your nerves. It's been so foreign to go out nowadays ever since you began living like a hermit, you weren't even sure if you still knew how to talk to people.

"That's literally not the point. I'm supposed to be living incognito."

"That's not living. That's basically making your own version of the old cellar they kept you in."
