The first break of morning light came into your room via your slightly see through curtains.

The deep purr of your feline companion cooed you awake, her rather furry yet warm presence plushed up against one side of your face.

You left your radio on overnight, and unlike the usual mundane reports that started up most people's day, the one you left on greeted you with the announcement of a new Vampire Coven making its way up the hierarchy chain.

"Turn it off." Came a disapproving voice.

You tried opening your eyes with a groan, tossing and turning in your bed before a disgrunted hiss came from your grumpy feline who then jumped off the bed and onto your vanity desk near by.

"What are you? A squid?" The snappy remark came from the said feline. As did the first one. Femi was your one year old persian with a tail so long it flicked back and forth like a clock's hand and eyes so yellow they seemed unreal even to you.

"Shut it, Femi. I feed you in this house." You said, still half awake as you stretched yourself out on your bed, the rustling of your sheets and blankets making the feline glower her eyes at you.

"Plus, you occupy half of the space I have here, so it's really not my fault if you get squish or something. Cat's are flexible, right?"

Femi hissed again, and this time you laughed a bit before willing your still sluggish body up into a sitting position before you crawled closer to the bedside table with the radio and cranked up its volume.

"....Said to be occupying 9 new blood vampirs who show exceptional charm and skill which seems to threaten the current reign of elders..."

"Nine?" You repeat the words in utter disbelief, attentively taking in every word said by the reporter, who sounded incredibly bored of his job. Seems like whoever these young bloods were, they've been doing the right amount of noise to be able to catch even the radio's attention.

"I didn't know new Covens were still emerging..." You said, yawning, as you looked to Femi who was already cleaning herself.

"Do you think they'd actually take over those old guys?"

"Who knows?" Femi purred out, before you caught the glint in her almond shaped eyes and you inched yourself closer to where she was.

"Did you get to see them?"

"One of them."

No sooner than you heard those words, you yanked Femi into your arms and earned an alarmed hiss from the poor cat, and despite how she thrashed about, her claws did little to no damage on you.
Typical of a Witch's Familiar.

"Howwww? And when? I barely see you go out!"

"Keep holding me hostage and you'll never know!"

At that, you released your hold with a frustrated sigh and Femi jumped back onto your vanity desk, her sharp glowy eyes glaring daggers at you. But you couldn't really help your excitement. Ever since you started going into hiding, going in and out of your home became something you grew incredibly grew wary of. Unsure of whose eyes you would catch.

After all, even when you successfully erased your entire existence from the memories of the Guild members who almost sacrificed you to some random ancient being, you were still humble enough to remind yourself that no matter how talented you were in magic, there will always be a flaw in it. So, not only do you wear charms that forbid anyone or anything that means you harm to even get close to you, but you also borrowed a special spell that made anyone who sees you forget how you look in an instant.
