"I should get this." I softly announced and answered the phone.
"Hello, who is this?" I whispered.
"It's Grey's Hospital and we are calling on behalf of Rosie-" an unknown voice explained.
"Oh my God! Is she okay?" I shouted.
My face was pale and I was out of breath. I was going to break down but I didn't want Sara to worry. This is all my fault! If I had just answered the fucking phone!
"Well, she's just come out of surgery since she has been in an accident and has fractured a few bones but right now, I can't give you all the details." the voice further explained.
"Is she allowed visitors?" I asked.
"Yes." the voice replied.
"I'll be there." I exclaimed and shut the phone.
I walked towards the coffee table next to the couch and grabbed my car keys.
"What's going on?" Sara asked slowly. Unable to comprehend what the whole fuss was about.
"Rosie was in an accident and I did not fucking answer the phone because I was fucking making out with you!" I spat furiously.
"It's not my fault." Sara whispered and slowly walked towards me.
"Well, its mine." I shouted.
"Why are you mad at me?" Sara snapped.
"I'm not mad at you." I explained as I tried to calm down.
"I'm just furious at my self and I'm taking it out on you and I'm so sorry." I whispered.
"Do you want to come with me?" I asked and Sara nodded slowly.
I opened the door of the apartment and run down several stairs to reach the main exit of the building. I pressed the unlock button and I could hear my car unlock instantly. Sara opened the door handle as fast as she could and sat in the passenger seat as I sat in the driver's seat.
"This is it." I whispered and I could feel my heart racing faster than ever.
Sara's P.O.V
It's been such a long day.
Luke and I are sitting in the waiting area at Grey's hospital, waiting for someone, anyone to come and talk to us and explain what the hell happened.
"Hi, is this Rosie's friends?" a tall woman dressed in blue scrubs asked with a polite smile drawn on her face as she walked towards us.
"Yes." Luke replied and we both shot up from our seats immediately.
"Well, Rosie has been through an accident as you are already aware, however, the accident was quite severe! On her face, she has a three deep cuts on her left cheek that have the potential to heal properly and leave no scarring if treated properly. Additionally, she has bruises on her chest area and it challenges her to breathe because when she inhales and exhales, her chest area moves in order to allow Oxygen to go in and Carbon Dioxide to exit, causing her a lot of pain. However, the reason as to why we had to operate on her was because when she was brought in by the ambulance, she was struggling to breathe and eventually, after we took her down to X-ray, we found out why her chest area was bruised and the reason being is she has fractured her ribs bones and her bones in the chest area which adds on to the pain that she will have for a few months." the surgeon explained in detail.
"When will she be okay?" Luke asked desperately.
"Right now, all we hope for is for her to wake up and once she does wake up, we can then further examine her." the surgeon further explained.
"But, I will say this. We have drawn blood and she has a very low count of white blood cells so in my opinion, she will take longer to heal." she explained and smiled politely.
"Can we see her?" I asked.
"She is in room 4A to your right." the surgeon smiled and walked away.
"She was in so much pain." Luke sighed.
I looked into his bright blue eyes but he would not look back at me.
"It's all my fault." he continued.
"No." I whispered, trying to comfort him.
"Why don't you feel guilty?" he asked as he finally looked at me.
"Because I have nothing to be guilty of." I explained and forced a smile on my face.
"Oh, so making out with your best friend's best friend and ignoring her calls when she needs us doesn't make you feel bad?" he snapped.
"Oh and don't forget that she is going through a tough time right now with that asshole Alex and perhaps she needed us to comfort her. I mean, that is why you called me to come in the first place, to comfort her, right?" he blurted.
"Don't blame it on me Luke!" I spat furiously.
"Well who should I blame?" he shouted and the people who were also sitting in the waiting room instantly stared at us.
"Look, you should take a minute to calm down-" I forced a smile.
"Don't tell me to calm down." he whispered and looked at me with hatred filling his eyes.
How could the one I love look at me with so much hatred? It's not our fault ... is it?
