Friday 12.01

There was snow outside when the friends walked through the small forest. It was close to the city but not close enough for them to hear the constant honking of the cars. At first they wanted to picnic but it was too cold to do that, so instead they went to a small café after a short walk.

Mina looped her arm through Dahyun's. She was still shy around the others, though she did slowly warm up to them. Sana and Jihyo took a couple of selfies together, while Chaeyoung and Dahyun exchanged embarrassing memories. Mina thought that she wouldn't warm up to them at all, but she did. It felt safe. Almost like family.

Dahyun was glad to observe that Mina grew out of her shell a bit. She was talking, laughing and taking pictures with the others. There was one thing Dahyun couldn't get out of her head: What would it be like to go on a date with Mina? Would she prefer a café over a restaurant? Would she prefer something else entirely? She wanted to know everything and Dahyun felt a stab of jealousy everytime Mina laughed with one of her friends and not her. That smile, that laugh. It used to be only for her. However, she was glad that Mina liked her friends.

"We should talk about something!", Sana exclaimed loudly. "But...We ARE talking already.", Chaeyoung said with a confused expression. "Ok, uhm. Has any of you already listened to Diamond's new album? I love the track "Underwater". By the way, my sister just opened her dance studio! I heard that she wants to form a cover group. She asked me to let you guys know, just in case you are interested." Jihyo started to grin. "Oh, she already knows how excited I am! Sign me up and let her know that I will join!"

When the waiter arrived with the drinks, they completely forgot what they got.

After they dopped Mina off at the hospital, they immediately went to Dahyun's home.
"Have a nice travel you two. " Jihyo packed up her things because she had to work the following day and Sana had to travel back home at the request of her sister and a promised job. They promised to visit her again as soon as possible.

As they left, Chaeyoung quickly checked the fridge and found... nothing. She was quick to let Dahyun know, that then got her purse and a bag and together they drove to the next supermarket.

"What do you even want to eat?", Dahyun asked her friend that just seemed to pass the aisles, without any sense of direction. "I think Ramen will do the job, right?", came from her friend. "You know that we shouldn't just eat Ramen every single day?", Dahyun then said. Chaeyoung started to nod slowly. "Yeah. I know. I'll get some rice and you get the rest." Chaeyoung already turned to walk away and get some rice, but Dahyun held her at her wrist. "Chae, I do have rice at home. Lot's of rice actually. All I need is something to eat with that." Chaeyoung bit her bottom lip. "Ok. Yeah. Right. Of course, I'm stupid. What about we just look up some dish online?" Dahyun examined Chaeyoung's face. "Are you alright Chae?", she whispered. Chaeyoung pulled her phone out and started typing, as if she hasn't heard Dahyun. Well, maybe she actually hasn't but deep inside her mind, Chaeyoung tried to figure out how to come clean to Dahyun.

"I found some rice ball snowmen! What about we make those? They seem like fun." Dahyun agreed, still worried about Chaeyoung.

When the women loaded the food into the trunk and fastened their seatbelts, Dahyun couldn't wait any longer. "What's wrong Chae? I don't remember ever seeing you like this. You know you can tell me, right?" Chaeyoung just looked at Dahyun's knees and played with her hands. "It's... complicated. I feel like-." Her voice broke and she looked out of the window. "I don't know how to explain it. Dahyun..." Dahyun took the other woman's hand. "It's alright. You can tell me or not. I won't force you. Let's go home, alright?" She squeezed Cheayoung's hand and turned to the steering wheel. "I thought I might be in love with you but you know what? Forget it. Everything I said. I'm not in love anymore. Not with you." Dahyun nodded slowly. "Thanks for telling me. I told you it will be alright."

The engine didn't start. It came to Dahyun that she totally forgot to tank up her car. "Oh no, why now? This has never happened to me before. Chaeyoung could you be an angel and look up the gas stations nearby? I'll bake you some strawberry shortcake on your birthday or something. In the meantime I'll call-" Dahyun turned abruptly when she saw a  familiar red head coming out of the music store on the other side of the road.

"Hey Greyson!", Dahyun yelled, waving frantically. The man raised an eyebrow and jogged to the other side of the road. "What's up Dahyun and... Well, nice to meet you. I'm Greyson." He held his Hand out to Chaeyoung that just eyed it for a second before bumping Dahyun in the side. "Oh sorry, force of habit. I keep forgetting that handshakes aren't the thing here." Greyson scratched his neck and bowed his head. "I'm Son Chaeyoung. Nice to meet you. Your korean is pretty good." Greyson's cheeks took the shade of strawberry red, making Chaeyoung chuckle a bit. "Alright, listen Greyson. I forgot to tank up this baby.", Dahyun said, patting the roof of her car to underline her statement. "I could give you ride but there's a gas station just around the corner. I have a canister in my trunk with a bit fuel in it. It is not much though. You should be able to get to the gas station and tank up at least. I'll be right back." When he turned to go to his black car, Chaeyoung put her head on Dahyun's shoulder. "Now, you have to explain to me who that is." "Just a co-worker Chae.", Dahyun said, pinching Chaeyoung's cheek.

"There you go ladies. Just give me the canister back when we meet at work again. Have a good evening you two." "Thank you so much Greyson. You are our savior!" Greyson shrugged and smirked. "I like to be known for that. See you!" As he turned to go Dahyun wondered where exactly the gas station was.
